Solid artwork and he does match the suit and cavill pretty well. Overall looks good and congratz to the artist.

I'm sorry but I still can't get over the lack of trunks! Sure, the artwork looks good & Cavill looks good in the suit that they have but to me personally, it's missing something. Wait! How about.....TRUNKS?!

The trunks thing aside, it's funny to me how the costume plays a bit better when it's drawn. Not ideal by any stretch but that artist did a great job in recreating the outfit and in setting up the similarity to Cavill.

Is it The Suit? No. And it never will be. And that's not okay either. But on its own, yeah, it ain't too bad.

That art is fantastic. Especially that first picture. You know, sometimes I wonder, if S&S decided not to draw the trunks on Superman, and someone decided to add them today, how would we all react? I know, stupid and irrelevant question.

You know since y'all posting some suit related pics here's one that I just found over at the forums of Superherohype.com except this one is a comparison between all the actors who portrayed Supes on the big screen.

To contrast these 3 pics, here's something that stands out like a sore thumb: Brandon 'BJ' Routhman!

Reeve? Classic, no further explanation necessary.

Cavill? Except for the glaring absentee trunks, he looks very powerful & 'manly'.

BJ the Bartender? His face in that pic looks very long for some reason. He doesn't look like Superman but he does look like some kind of a dork.

And I really hope we get some proper shots of HC in the MOS suit soon because all these manips (the ´´ŕeal life`` ones not the drawings/animations) annoy me, they just never quite look right.

That actually looks pretty badass. Not how I picture Superman when I think of him, but you KNOW that's who he is when you see it.

I'm not sure I buy it. They're not going to come right out and say "The Powers That Be at DC Entertainment forced us to remove the red trunks. What, you think we got everything else right but somehow overlooked the trunks? Cracka, PLEASE! Anyway. It's all to do with the lawsuit shit that's going on, I dunno the details. So what we made was the best compromise we thought we could... under the circumstances."

His BS line about the "human" thing will probably play with a bunch of civilians who already suffer from the "Superman is too powerful/alien/perfect/whatever" delusion. They won't question him or even try to connect the dots.

Maybe I'm just making excuses for him though simply because he didn't trot out the old "bright red and bright blue just won't work well together onscreen" shit a certain other costume designer used a few years ago for her pleather abortion of a costume.

Nice find ap a cool video on the suit. And so agree what bs shit oon trunks deal. When we all know like colors said its the dam lawsuit/copyright crrap that has caused dc heads to muck with all media take of costume.

I don't give a shit about the red trunks anymore. But give me anything less than a stunning 10/10 Superman movie and that may change.

Speaking of which, I remember a past interview with Bryan Singer involving the suit being used in SR. If I recall Singer mention about the suit being given an alien style look to it when in reality there is nothing alien about the suit compare to the one being used in MOS where else that suit actually has the alien part down to a tee thus making it look like an extraterrestrial style supersuit thats still look recognizable. Singer also mention in the same interview about the SR suit borrowing 70 years of the suit's designs in comics & media which turns out to be a really bad idea to go through with which ending up looking like a suit that tries to look Supermanish but to no avail. And finally there's a part in that interview about Singer claiming that red is a cheesy color that won't work in a modern film which is why the suit had the red being replaced with maroon color instead. Really??! If that is true than how do you explain red being shown on the MOS suit? If it can work in MOS than how dosen't it work in any other film especially SR?

No argument here, dude. Singer's logic doesn't even hold up either. The Singerman bikini doesn't look anything like the clothes the Kryptonians usually wore. So wtf is he talking about?!

Love or hate the concept but the MOS costume (I won't call it The Suit without the trunks; just doesn't feel right) is at least of a piece with that universe's Kryptonian clothing styles. Maybe MOS will be shit, maybe it won't be but (A) there's at least clear logic behind the costume decisions and (B) as you say, just the stuff we've seen is light years ahead of whatever Singer would've come up with.

Not that there was ever any doubt but more than ever I'm convinced a reboot was the right decision.

Funny thing happened to me when I was watching the CC trailer, in that scene where the military is escorting a handcuffed Superman, I thought for a second that I saw red trunks. The scene is dark and so some of the pixelation showed through and my eyes played a trick on me but for a minute I was rewinding it and I was seeing trunks (even though they are not there, of course). And the funny thing is, I got excited like a kid when I thought I see them. This made me realize how much I still miss the classic suit and how nothing will ever beat it. But I guess there is no such thing as 100% perfection in movies and the MOS suit falls just one red trunks short of that. Because otherwise it looks perfect. I love everything about it, the design, the coloring and of course Cavill fills and ´´sells`` it nicely.

This just in, according to Comicbookmovie.com, Supermanhomepage.com & Superherohype.com an issue of a french entertainment magazine titled: "Studio Cine' Live" has featured a cover of Cavill in the suit, quite possibly the second official pic of Cavill as Supes.

All though this may be the start of the marketing of the film I still abit baffled of the lack of yellow between the S of the shield!
