'Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice' General News
It's not much that we couldn't have guessed but it's nice to have gold-plated confirmation about things.Bleeding Cool wrote:Zack Snyder Confirms That Lex Luthor Is In The Man Of Steel Sequel, Reveals First Tiny Detail
It’s not much, certainly not in terms of word count, but Zack Snyder is currently taking part in a live fan event webcast for Man of Steel and let slip the following tiny tease:It’s a pretty badly kept secret that Lex Luthor will feature in the film, but I think this is our first absolute confirmation, and it also speaks to the kind of dynamic the characters will have, how Luthor will attempt to manipulate the public sentiment.Zack Snyder wrote:Lex loves calling him an alien.URL- http://www.bleedingcool.com/2013/11/09/zack-snyder-confirms-that-lex-luthor-is-in-the-man-of-steel-sequel-reveals-first-tiny-detailZack Snyder wrote:UPDATE: Snyder has also just reiterated that the film’s sequel will address Superman’s decision to… er… handle Zod the way he does in Man of Steel.

Re: 'Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice' General News
To quote Kevin Spacey, "BRING IT ON!" Which was probably the most memorable thing he said in that entire film! But as for this version of Luthor, I say bring it on! I know, I know, duh average fanboy is like, what, Luthor again?! Yeah, you might feel that way if Luthor & 'land' are mentioned in the same sentence but funny how that rule didn't seem to apply to SMALLVILLE. And the latter I believe is gonna have more influence on this Lex than previous incarnations. Can't wait to see what they do with him, especially in light of the inclusion of Batman.

That leads into something else. Lex is obviously confirmed to be in the movie. And the havoc wreaked upon the city is likely to be some kind of plot point. And odds are Lexcorp will play some kind of role in reconstruction.non_amos wrote:To quote Kevin Spacey, "BRING IT ON!" Which was probably the most memorable thing he said in that entire film! Which means... in a roundabout kind of way, there's a sense in which yet again Lex could be playing the real estate card again. Heh...

You've got a point I guess, in a 'roundabout' sorta way. At least it won't be some goofy real estate scheme to make California drop off into the ocean or create a new continent. Actually the reconstruction aspect would be a logical plot point. It would also be 'the deck stacked in Luthor's favor' when it comes to winning public sentiment. So Snyder may take something that Singer failed at & make it work? Sweet!

Not sure how true this is:

Doomsday and Wonder Woman may be in Superman vs Batman
Julie Alexander - December 3rd, 2013
doomsday-blog
A Warner Bros. executive may have just revealed that Wonder Woman and Doomsday are going to be in Zack Snyder’s Batman vs. Superman.
Daniel Alter tweeted two statements earlier today that not so subtly hinted at the inclusion of the popular DC character
The rumours surrounding Wonder Woman’s involvement in the movie have been circulating for months, although no official statement has been released on the subject.
If the Doomsday rumours are true, however, that could be an interesting plot twist Warner Bros. executives would have wanted to keep secret.
Doomsday made his first appearance in Man of Steel: #17 in 1992, and is best known as the villain that murdered the caped crusader that same year.
If DC and Warner Bros are planning on sticking to the comic book storyline, and if this rumour turns out to be true, looks like it may be the end of Superman’s time.
wonderwoman-doomsday
Alter did add that while he’s a producer who works at Warner Bros., he is in no way related to the project. He tweeted that all of his tweets were based on guesses he was making with friends at the time.
At this time, Warner Bros. hasn’t issued a statement about Alter’s possible leak.
Sorry guys - the tweets won't cut and paste to the post.

If true, apparently WB not only has a major boner for a Superman/Batman movie but apparently they're determined to the Doomsday story too. If that's the route they go, no, I don't see this as a good thing.canoe.ca wrote:A Warner Bros. executive may have just revealed that Wonder Woman and Doomsday are going to be in Zack Snyder’s Batman vs. Superman.

This is probably a load of bull. It sounds like some 'fanboy whankery' or something. If it's too good to be true it probably is. And I don't think this is good either. Why? Hey, we already know we've got BATMAN AND SUPERMAN. There's your focus right there, your only focus! Even the inclusion of Wonder Woman might be too big a distraction. Yeah, do a JLA film but do it right.
Speaking of which, I thought Darkseid was gonna be the focus of that. Doomsday alone would be focus enough for a JLA film. So duh brothers, decide what you're gonna do?!

Lex Luthor would be my guess.Callan Mulvey Eyed For BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Villain
The Australian actor who'll appear in both 300: Rise of an Empire and Captain America: The Winter Soldier next year is reportedly on Warner Bros. radar to play the villain in the Man of Steel sequel.
By DCMarvelFreshman - 12/4/2013
Hot on the heels of Warner Bros. announcing who'll play the Amazon Princess in Justice League Batman Vs. Superman, word is out on who they're considering for the villain role in the Zack Snyder-directed Man of Steel sequel. We still don't know which DC character will provoke the assemblage of Batman, Superman, Nightwing and Wonder Woman (along with supposed cameo appearances by “several other members of the Justice League”), but Variety is reporting that the studio is considering Callan Mulvey, 38, for the part. The Australian actor, who appeared in Zero Dark Thirty last year, will be seen in next year's 300: Rise of an Empire and he also has a villain role (Jack Rollins) in Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier. As the source suggests Warner Bros. is just “eyeing” Callan Mulvey, there could be other actors in contention. Anyhow, previous rumors suggest that Lex Luther and Doomsday will appear in Batman Vs. Superman, but what do you think?

The site they quote is the one FilmRetardJamie is part of, and were the ones who started the "Cavill is gay" rumors. So keep that in mind....New JUSTICE LEAGUE Plot Details; WB Looking At African American Actors For Lex Luthor?
A new report claims that the Justice League will be a "United Nations" of superheroes, with each member of the team representing a different part of the world, while Denzel Washington, Idris Elba and Arrow's David Ramsey have all been considered for 'Lex Luthor' in Batman Vs. Superman...
By Josh Wilding - 12/5/2013
Think McFly Think are reporting that their Warner Bros. source (who told them about David Goyer writing the Man of Steel sequel and Gotham being developed for TV) has now given them an update on the casting process for Lex Luthor in Batman Vs. Superman. Denzel Washington (2 Guns) was apparently the top choice, although "nothing ever materialized", and Idris Elba (Thor: The Dark World) was considered before his deal with Marvel Studios put an end to that idea before it even really got started. However, one actor who has been approached is Arrow's David Ramsey. The site points out that this doesn't mean Luthor will definitely be played by an African American actor.
They also claim to have some details on the planned Justice League movie, saying that the team will be portrayed as the "United Nations" of superheroes. Apparently, "The concept we’ve heard plays Superman represents the world as a whole (Being an immigrant of Earth he speaks for everyone), Batman would represent the United States with the American Affleck in the cape-and-cowl with the Flash possibly portrayed by an Hispanic or Laitno actor and as we saw announced yesterday an Wonder Woman played by an Israeli." Presumably, Wonder Woman would represent Paradise Island, and this would without a doubt help to differentiate the franchise from The Avengers. It would also line up with the sort of political overtones Goyer brought to the Batman movies he worked on and Man of Steel. For now though, take this all with a pinch of salt!

Re: 'Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice' General News
Um, no. No it wouldn't. Superman in MOS did everything except lead a 4th of July parade through town, scarf down some of Martha's apple pie and salute the American flag as he flies off. And Batman representing the US? He gives a damn about the rest of the world only to the degree that it impacts Gotham City. Otherwise he's pretty disengaged. I realize Batman fans would love it if Batman became America's premiere superhero icon in place of Superman, they've always had and will always have penile envy about Superman, but there's just no way to make that work.comicbookmovie.com wrote:They also claim to have some details on the planned Justice League movie, saying that the team will be portrayed as the "United Nations" of superheroes. I dunno. I mean, could Denzel do the job? No question about it. But honestly people, wtf is wrong with white actors portraying white characters? I can let Perry White's casting go (A) because Fishburne is the man and (B) the Daily Planet staff has too many whities for a supposedly modern mega city. So that adds up for me. But a black Lex? That just seems like pandering.Apologist Puncher wrote:But Denzel as Lex Luthor? Yes please.

I think the best actor for the part should get it. Denzel is an amazing actor, and he can bring the "Public mega-watt smile" along with the "Crazy, intense private hatred of Superman" that the character needs. But hey, if it was REALLY up to me, I'd pull a choice out of left-field that I think would knock it out of the park:
- Spoiler:
- Tom Hanks.

He's a chameleon. And he has spent the last 20 years being the "good guy". The guy you are supposed to root for. Incidentally, if you haven't seen C****** P*******, see it. Guy deserves ANOTHER Oscar 'nom. But I think he has it in him to play a MENACING Lex. Sharp. Intimidating. With an ability to manipulate the people of Metropolis.thecolorsblend wrote:^ Him, huh? I think he'd relish the chance to play a part he doesn't normally get a crack at. He'd be the new Hackman for THIS Superman series. Talent/Ability wise. Not land-shark, goofy henchmen wise.

Why do people say Doomsday? Are they too stupid to realize he'd be CGI, IF he was even in the film? Now Lex Luthor, might be something there as he looks a little like Lex from S:TAS.
Jason Momoa in Talks for Batman vs. Superman
According to The Hollywood Reporter, former "Game of Thrones" and Conan the Barbarian star Jason Momoa is in talks for a role in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman film. It's unclear what character Momoa might play in the film. The site speculates that he could portray either the villain Doomsday or perhaps the hero Martian Manhunter, but we can't say for sure given the intense secrecy surrounding the project. Who do you think Momoa might play in the sequel? Sound off below!
Batman vs. Superman will feature the return of Henry Cavill as Superman, facing off against Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne. In addition, the film will mark the big screen debut of Wonder Woman as played by Gal Gadot. Also starring Amy Adams, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne, the Zack Snyder-directed Batman vs. Superman hits theaters on July 17, 2015.

Hadn't considered that but there is a similarity to that pic. However, since his remake of Conan was such a bomb that they're gonna bring Ahnuld back, are they sure they're making the right decision? But yeah, Doomsday, what are people thinking? I mean, Mark Ruffalo is the Hulk. Hey! That one actually worked!

The Hulk is Bruce Banner. Bruce Banner becomes the Hulk. Doomsday BETTER NOT be a human.

Ah, you mean when he shook Castro's brothers hand in front of the world, thereby legitimizing his "Presidency" and silently condoning his country's Human Rights violations? The very thing Nelson Mandela fought against?

Oddly enough, no I didn't because the part above is where I bowed out. When news trickled out that Teleprompter Jesus shook hands with Brother Castro, my attitude was basically "fuck it, any other time I'd be pissed off about this but you caught me on a good day."Apologist Puncher wrote:Ah, you mean when he shook Castro's brothers hand in front of the world, thereby legitimizing his "Presidency" and silently condoning his country's Human Rights violations? Yep. And then there's Obamacare. It's not "ACA" and it's not "the Affordable Care Act"; we all agreed years ago to call it Obamacare so don't call it something else now that the Jackoff In Chief's sole "accomplishment" is a proven disaster. Anyway. Part of me doesn't want Obamacare to ever be repealed because I want all the asshole college kids and retirees who voted for that prick in 2012 to get what's coming to them. It's what they deserve. But it won't happen. Once again the Republicans will come to the rescue, figure out a way to undo this mess and then get nothing but flames in the media for it later.Apologist Puncher wrote:Oblamer is such a fail. But the retirees especially I want to suffer under Obamacare. "The greatest generation", huh? "Can't put a price on freedom", huh? Well, I dunno about that. I think we've managed to, actually. Does $19 trillion in unfunded liabilities ring a bell? Hey, WW2 generation, we're even now. And fuck you.

In reference to Doomsday, I didn't like that on Smallville either but it went beyond just the human thing. It also went beyond the sucking appearance of Doomsday. What was such a travesty was that they turned him into a serial killer! Remember that? They introduce 'Davis Bloome' I believe. The dude is a paramedic & on the side he's a serial killer, even putting people's mutilated remains into plastic garbage bags! And in the end he turns out to be Zod's son and/or 'creation'?! Gimme a break! Couldn't SV's writers have done better than that?
I'm sure Doomsday in a Superman film will be the real deal, at least in appearance & strength. But back story? I hope we have nothing to worry about.
