We Need Some Movie News

Maybe I spoke too soon? Now I'm getting this from the same Facebook page as the previous post:

CONFIRMED in CODE from 4 programmers: Sunday, April 14, 5pm PDT/8PM EDT/ MIDNIGHT UK, something is here! This is the result of the code, showing it all. There is another script acting on the countdown, changing it to end Sunday instead of Monday 6pm PDT. 25 hours earlier!

Also, the vid just changed out- taking the shape of a shield. Looks like it could be Zod's!

That's how I feel too. It's a movie, I shouldn't fucking have to do homework.

It would appeared they're pulling the same stunt that was done late last year, decoding signals to unlock a countdown to a trailer. Which BTW I'll be taking part of since I assume the site (DSRWProject.com) won't decode everything by itself!

BTW I stop by at the official MOS website again and it looks like the static image has change alittle and I'm still convince that there's a blurry image of Zod's crest symbol except only this time the symbol is in between a diamond shape design.

To confirm my suspensions take a close look at the static image as currently presented.



Now here's the image again this time with Zod's symbol being outlined.



If this dosen't prove Zod's symbol is shown through the static image then I don't know what the hell will!

And it looks like they took a cue from 'Superman Earth One' with the video. Zod's countdown is a countdown to the next trailer, count on it.

I just watched that via Facebook. From what they're reporting the new trailer is gonna debut on the MTV Awards tonight & then probably online. Can't. Frickin'. Wait! And that does seem like a different take on Zod too huh?

I dig the "One of my citizens" line. Michael Shannon is going to own as Zod.

I sure hope this film erases the stench of Singerman Peeps. One of my neighbors, not the same critical one I've mentioned before but another one, actually didn't have any use for a new Superman film. That is, until I explained the difference to him Saturday afternoon. My wife was over at their house the other day & the guy in question is stoked to see IRON MAN 3. Last year we saw AVENGERS with him & his family at IMAX. So I had my wife tell him while I'm on the phone at home about the new Superman film. From her report it's like he rolled his eyes or something so I felt pretty certain he didn't have a clue what was going on. So Saturday afternoon I confirmed my suspicions. Sure enough, when he thought Superman movie he thought it was BRANDON ROUTH again! He thought that film royally sucked & apparently had no hopes for a new film. But can you believe it? 2 months out & the guy thought BJ the Bartender was somehow still in the picture! Duh brothers better do a better job than this. Anyway, I laid it out for him so well that now even his old lady wants to see it! Largely due to the excellent cast. However, the other neighbor reported to me on Facebook this morning that Henry Cavill's Superman looks like STRETCH ARMSTRONG! And he liked Singerman. Go figure.

I think the MTV Movie Awards were deceptive. Or at least the Facebook stuff I read pertaining to them & MOS was deceptive. Henry Cavill was to present awards? Nowhere in sight! The new 3-minute trailer was to debut? Nowhere in sight. They did however show this new General Zod clip as a commercial. They did do at least that much but it's disappointing that they didn't show the other & like someone pointed out, this was a good opportunity to have gotten non-fans on board & they blew it. Maybe this person didn't know what film company he was talking about? Don't expect logic. But at least MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS mopped up on awards including BEST FILM. Take a note Oscars!

Coming back to this. I remember saying I think to Puncher that the single reservation I had about Shannon as Zod was his voice. He just always had an east coast vibe to me. His look, his accent, everything. Zod means a lot of things to me... but "east coast" ain't one of 'em.

But if you check out the EW pic and the marketing video up there, obviously there's nothing "east coast" about his performance. Puncher never questioned Shannon in the role and I shouldn't have done so myself. But obviously there was nothing to be concerned about.

When you say 'Earth One' I assume you mean that mini-series DC came out with a while back? I never read it so 'spoil' me. What connection does it have to Zod in this clip?

Also I'm not sure if anyone has seen this or notice these ever existed but there's a website that has a series of photographic prints based on the MOS film which you can chic out just by clicking on this Link.

Colors, I see what you're saying from that post as far as them adapting that idea for MOS but certainly that's not Zod? That reminds me more of something in JOKER territory but obviously not the Joker so who is it?

A character called Tyrell. He was created for Earth One. It's a pretty good book too. You can find Earth One vol. 1 and 2 in most big book stores and they're worth checking out. They are original graphic novels so they are paced differently than five comics strung together and put into a trade. There's a pretty clear beginning, middle and end in each book that's foreign to collected editions. Frankly, unless digital takes off more than it has, I think the original graphic novel thing is the way of the future. You'll have two volumes of, say, Superman which come out each year, two of Batman, maybe one of Justice League or whatever else. You could also parcel them out in drips and drabs as digital versions online. Or something, I dunno. Anyway.

Point is though that a lot of people think the inspiration for Zod's little message there comes from Earth One. This is allegedly supported by David Goyer contributing a cover blurb for Earth One v1. I don't have much of an opinion either way about it.

This trailer ALONE was more action-packed than all of Singerman Peeps put together.
