Re: Amazing Spider-Man news thread
So true ap the right shade of red/blue as seen in any of the spidey films or hell sv did it for yrs. Prooves that singer was totally shitfaced when he thought red/blue superman suit wouldn't work in his film.

Makes me wonder what does Singer have against red?
As for the suit being made by the same guy who made the SR suit thats not surprising judging by the awkwardness of it!

Re: Amazing Spider-Man news thread
Umm cbmf the folks who did sr suit are not on tasm. Checking who is the costumer designer for tasm is this person:
http://m.imdb.com/name/nm0057199/filmotype/costumeX20designer
And she has workked on speed racer, the matrix series, and a bunch of other films.
This is who worked on sr, and was on a bunch of prior singer projects:

‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ Director Marc Webb Tweets A New Image From The Film
Posted on 5.11.12 by Philip SticcoThe Amazing Spider-Man director Marc Webb posted a new photo via his twitter feed. You can see it below.
It’s a neat shot of Peter Parker sitting atop a street light with the simple message:
Peter Parker. Good balance.
I love that twitter enables filmmakers to share little things like this with their fans.
The Amazing Spider-Man hits theaters July 3rd.

Re: Amazing Spider-Man news thread
So far the only thing I hate about this flick is this:
"Ready to play God?"
As if that isn't the most cliche phrase I've ever heard in a sci-fi/superhero blockbuster.
Besides that, I'm looking forward to this one.

Re: Amazing Spider-Man news thread
I don't have much issue with that line myself. And for me and I know colors/ap haven't liked this aspect is all the unmask scenes of peter. I was sick of them in raimi films, and was hoping they wouldn't have done that here. But. Besides that as of right now I can't wait to see where the film goes.

Yeah, Raimi wanted Tobey to show his face so we could see his emotions. Cuz apparently there's no such thing as the concept of body language.

Re: Amazing Spider-Man news thread
Ya and I so get they want to show off the actor and be able to see them. But come on either with spidey do body language, and voice over stuff showing what he is thinking/feeling. Or do a damaged mask deal(like in spidey one during final goblin fight).

It's worse in this film. Watch the trailers again and you'll see.

Re: Amazing Spider-Man news thread
Despite some reservations, I am hoping for this flick to be solid. I don't expect anything great. I don't expect it to be the defining Spider-Man film, but I'm hoping for a good ride. One thing that makes me optimistic is Spider-Man finally acting like a smart ass towards criminals such as that knife gag. I thought that was sorely missing in the Raimi films (only one I remember is him telling Bonesaw "did your husband make it for you?"). I also like Garfield, I was never happy with Tobey's grinning wide eyed take on the character.

Changing the costume, and the decisions they made, are the very first thing that bothered me. Garters? Really?? Him ripping his mask off 3,000 times in the trailers was #2. The Lizard looking like a 'Super Mario Bros.' reject is #3. Going Ang Lee 'HULK' on his origin would be #4.
On the other hand, giving him the mechanical web-shooters I remember from the old 'SPider-Man' cartoon from my childhood was good. How vibrant the colors look on the big-screen is a big plus. Emma Stone is far better looking than Kirsten The Dunst. And the quips, if they are in more than just that particular sequence, would be refreshing too.
I'm 50/50 on this film.

Re: Amazing Spider-Man news thread
Yup, it seems it'll go either way.
I just watched the four minute clip. When Spidy took his mask off when rescuing a kid I literally said "FOR FUCK'S SAKE!!!", but then something surprising happened. He then tells the kid to put it on because it'll make him strong as a way of giving the boy the confidence to climb out of he car just before the webbing breaks. When Spidy finally has him he immediately puts the mask back on.
Kind of clever I must say. Hope the rest of the film is as clever.

webhead2006 already beat you to it on the last page.
Anyway, like I said above, I like how he gives his mask to the kid to give him confidence.
