Veteran stuntman Vic Armstrong (Raiders of the Lost Ark) has snagged two plum gigs.
First, Armstrong will captain the stunts on Sony’s Spider-Man reboot, which gets underway shortly.
After he puts Andrew Garfield through the paces, the British all-rounder will direct a remake of the Alfred Hitchcock classic The 39 Steps.
Budgeted between five and ten mill, the Film Planet Entertainment production is said to be gearing up for a 2011 start.
Bob Couttie, Neal Bloom, Debbie Bishop wrote the screenplay, which - like the original - tells of an innocent man on the run from political terrorists wrongly accused of a murder they committed.

A great choice for stunt cordinator/stunts. He has done some great work in the field of stunts for the films he has worked on for yrs.

ZOOEY Deschanel might be starring in the new Spider-Man movie!
Sources say director Marc Webber – who worked with the actress on Days of Summer – is talking to Zooey about playing Betty Brant, the sexy PA of Daily Bugle boss J Jonah Jameson.
“Betty was a minor character in the previous Spidey movies but Marc has big plans for her,” reveals a movie insider. “He wants a strong performer to carry the role and Zooey fits the bill perfectly. The role is hers if she wants it.”
The new Spider-Man movie, featuring Andrew Garfield in the title role, is due to begin shooting next month.
Zooey recently revealed she’d be a producer if she didn’t make it as singer and actress.
“I have a lot of things I think I could do, like producing music or films,” she said.
“Whatever it is, I would have to always be doing something creative.

/i like they are thinking of using betty more this go around. it did suck in the raimi films she never really did anything. Plus in current comics she is now a full fledge reporter. So it would be nice if that is what they have in store for her. Also i like zooey, i think she would be a fine betty.

Andrew Garfield Discusses Spider-Man Suit, Filming And Training!

The actor discusses the Spider-Man suit, how shooting is going on the movie as well as how long it's expected to last for and confirms that Peter Parker will be a teenager while discussing the training that requires...
The following is my own transcript for the audio interview (which cannot be embedded) and is as accurate as possible. You can hear what the actor had to say for yourself by following the link to The Guardian's website at the bottom of this page.



On Shooting The Movie:


"We started shooting two weeks ago, we have Christmas off and are then back into it for a fair bit of time. I'm going to have to hibernate into this character for at least four or five months."


On Whether He's Tried On The Suit And What It's Been Like:


"I have! I feel like a kid in my pyjamas. I can only say how it feels and it I feels pretty special. It feels like a dream relaised and a fantasy realised and I dont take it lightly and feel very, very lucky that I get to wear spandex for the next few months!"


On Training For The Role:


"Strength! I think Spider-Man needs strength but Peter Parker is still just a teenager. That's a very tender balance to figure oout. It's very specific of what we're trying to achieve in terms of body type. Rest assured there are a lot of people who are helping me with it in that respect!"

Andrew Garfield Talks Tobey Maguire And Shooting Spider-Man In 3D!

The actor discusses getting the former Peter Parker's blessing as well as what it's been like to shoot the upcoming reboot in 3D and how that effects his performace...
In a video interview with BBC News, the actor was once again quizzed about getting to play Spider-Man, and while the majority of what he had to say was similar to what we've already heard (comparing the comic books to Greek mythology and talking about being a longtime fan of the character) he was also asked about getting Tobey Maguire's blessing and what it's been like to film in 3D. What follows is my transcript of those parts of that interview.



On Whether He's Had Any Contact From Tobey Maguire:


"I've never met him. He sent me a lovely message through a mutual firend. He gave me his support and it meant a great deal of course because a part of the reason I loved this character was because of his portrayal. So to step into those shoes is no mean feat. It was generous of him to reach out and say something, so I'm thankful."


On Whether Shooting In 3D Makes A Difference:


"Luckily nothing really. I don't ever watch playback or ever go to the monitors and watch what I've done because I get very self conscious. I like to not know what my eyebrows are doing or the stupid thing my nostril is doing or whatever. The difference is is that the monitor is 3D so you've got the director and the producer and the writer there with their silly glasses watching the scene play out in 3D."


The untitled Spider-Man reboot is set to be released on July 3, 2012 and also stars Emma Stone and Rhys Ifans.

Ya his hair is a little crazy messy like. I seen on other boards and sites folks calling it twilight like. But i see it more like early USM peter look. Though who cares if his hair is crazy its more about how andrew will be playing peter/spidey.

Badtaste.it claims that c thomas howell has been cast in the film. It doesn't state what role he would be playing. Onl that the actor says he starts filming jan 25th.

The new Spider-Man movie has been filming for a few weeks now, and there's still been no word on who has been cast as Peter Parker's boss, Daily Bugle chief J. Jonah Jameson.

This prompted us to do a little digging and we found out from very reliable sources that it's because ... J. Jonah Jameson won't be in the movie. That's right, Spidey fans. We've confirmed that no one will be growling "Parker!" in this 3D reboot. So much for those rumors about John Slattery or Sam Elliott playing him.

That's not to say The Daily Bugle isn't in the movie, as these recent set photos of a Bugle delivery van make clear.

Well thats not very surprising that J Jonah Jameson is not going to appear in the reboot since I honestly have no faith in this film but when you think aboout it not having Jameson in the film is kind of like not having Commissioner Gordon in a "Batman" film since practicly every "Batman" film has Commissioner Gordon in them, not that I want to compare Gordon with Jameson aleast not commonly that is!

Ya it will suck a bit if jj isn't in the film. He is a key character in the spidey mythos. Though since they are focusing on hs days of peter and connors the lead villain. Maybe they wanted to focus on that more. Jj could still have preseence in the film via bugle headlines. Though I do want to see jj.

Ya know what sucks about this to me? For one, no 'JJ' sucks balls! What kinda crap Spidey move is THAT?! That's like leaving Perry White out of a Superman film! OTOH, I will be glad to see the LIZARD but I'm NOT pleased by the circumstances thereby. What do I mean? Well, I hate to say the actor's name who played Dr. Connors in the Raimi films & don't want to take the time to Google it right now but the POINT is..........THAT guy played Connors in ALL 3 Raimi films! The payoff should've been that he finally BECAME the Lizard, but I believe Raimi had the VULTURE in mind for the 4th film instead. So for one thing, what was Raimi's reasoning, denying the fans & all? Plus, it kinda sucks that NOW they're gonna do the Lizard INSTANTLY but it'll have NOTHING to do with what was building up for 3 films. What a crock!

i think i read before sony before was all for the lizard being used in raimi movies. The reason i dont recall. Also the actor who was in the raimi films was only in 2nd and 3rd film and was mentioned once in the first film. I too would have loved to see that actor play the lizard and would have liked to see it happen. But for the reboot we dont know for sure why they are not doing jj/bugle crew for the film. Maybe they could still make some sort of cameo roles in the film. Maybe someone can get an interview with marc webb soon and find out why jj/bugle crew isnt in the film if it is totally true. There is a chance the ign scoop could be wrong. Though since they are a month and a half into filming, and i read before they are going for around 90-100 days of shooting. Casting for bugle crew probably would have happened by now if they were to be in a few key scenes.
