My stars! Even the Spiderman toys crush those of TDKR, much less the Avengers!

I'm not saying they're perfect by any means but when you compare them to duh hulking 190-lb. 1/6 scale Hardly Bane replica, well, they're practically works of art. And colorful too. I'd think that always helps to sell toys?

And movies. There's a reason Spider-Man 3 kicked Singerman's ass at the box office and I'm not entirely prepared to say that more flashy and eye-catching visuals weren't a big part of the equation.non_amos wrote:I'm not saying they're perfect by any means but when you compare them to duh hulking 190-lb. 1/6 scale Hardly Bane replica, well, they're practically works of art. But anywho, just ignore me, I was taking a cheap shot at the Spidey reboot.

Hey we can all say what we want being free country and all. As for the figures/busts they do look very well made/detailed. Now I don't collect busts/figures any more. But they do look good for who is making them. As for film I do hope it turns out to be good.

Andrew Garfield's AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Stunt Double Discusses Working On The Movie
Ilram Choi,Andrew Garfield's stunt double on The Amazing Spider-Man,comments briefly on working with the actor as well as how the movements of this version differ from that of Tobey Maguire's and more. Josh Wilding - 2/16/2012
Talking to Comicus, Ilram Choi has commented on his work as Andrew Garfield's stunt double in The Amazing Spider-Man. The fact they chose Choi, whose speciality is in martial arts, may further tease exactly the kind of movements we'll see from the iconic Marvel character in Marc Webb's upcoming adaptation. Below are some excerpts from the interview, but you can read the full version by clicking on the link below.
For how long have you worked on The Amazing Spider-Man?
About a year and a half.
Did you have to wear the Spider-Man costume during some of your shooting? Was it somehow limiting your movements or not?
Yes, it was pretty flexible and didn't limit the movements except for the vision. It was hard to see at times.
Did you worked directly with the director, Marc Webb, and with the main actor, Andrew Garfield? Can you tell us something about it?
Yes, worked with both. They were both very nice and talented at what they did. We were all very communicative about the Spider-Man character. We all shared the same vision of how spiderman should move.
Which were the instructions you received from the stunt coordinator? Did you have to execute some particular movements during the shooting?
Depending on the stunt all the movements were different. I would first do the movement and they would agree or disagree. If disagreed then we would work together to come up with a the best movement for the scene.
The fact that this movie was all shot in 3D, with particular requirements, did it have some influence on your job? And if it did, how?
No influences for me. I'm in front of the camera doing what I can and the technicians handled all the 3D stuff.
Can you tell us, from your point of view, which are the biggest differences in the kind of action between this Spider-Man and the previous movies? For exemple, did you use a different acrobatic style?
It seems they are trying to go for more realistic stunt action rather then animation. There still is animation but hopefully all our hard stunt work will come through. The style is still Spider-Man.

Rhys Ifans comments on the lizard:
http://www.empireonline.com/
http://www.empireonline.com/
Like many Spider-Man villains, The Lizard isn't necessarily evil, just misunderstood...
That's certainly the case here. Curt is a force for good throughout his life. He's a geneticist who wants to help people, like him, who are limbless. In his eagerness to advance that science, he makes a mistake and that's an occurrence we've seen throughout time, sometimes to our benefit, sometimes to our detriment.
Did you base him on any scientist in particular?
No, not in particular. I had vague memories of the Open University but I wouldn't say I looked like any of those guys. He is a broken man who wants to fix himself. The Lizard almost becomes a drug for him, an alter-ego like Jekyll and Hyde, if you like. He's strong and brave and agile in a way that he can't be in his own life.
Will we see Connors flit back and forth, or is this a gradual transformation?
I don't know if I can say. You'll see transformations of all kinds.
And you actually play The Lizard via mo-cap, don't you?
Yeah, the advancements in that are quite [frick]in' breathtaking. Each of your facial movements are repeatable, but then you add the face of a lizard. I was, disturbingly, able to recognise some of my facial tics. In terms of the physicality, I had a particular way I wanted The Lizard to move. I didn't have lots of CGI downtime.
How did you manage to suggest having a tail?
You just have to imagine yourself with a longer spine. Some days I'd be standing on set like one of those 'Golf Sale' people with the pole stuck down the back of my tracksuit, and on top would be the Lizard head. It was quite comical in comparison to the end result.
