According to Souders, a few familiar faces will be in attendance including best man, Oliver Queen (Justin Hartley) and matron of honor, Chloe Sullivan (Allison Mack). "They've always been there for our beloved couple and they will be all the way to the end," said Souders.

The special two-hour series finale of Smallville will air on Friday, May 13th at 8pm EST on The CW.

ya it doesnt look that bad to me. though that is the thing. We all know its a bald cap, so we are all looking at the imprefections and all that. But still makeup folks did good work.

The new bonus content may be what sells me on this thing, particularly the retrospective. I've never been overly crazy about SV's DVD extras, and definitely not since season 6 or so but it'd be great if they could throw in some commentaries. Honestly, I'd rather have that stuff than the unaired Superboy TV show pilot (which is about as appropriate to SV as a BJ Routh cameo appearance).

Ya I hate when shows skimp out on extras. More so if u know stuff exists/or did and all that. But I can't wait for it release. Only thing that blows is the price for the set.

Hadn't seen a price tag yet but haven't really looked for one either.

Honestly, I could give two fucks about deleted scenes. 9 times out of 10, they're unfinished and 10 times out of 10, they suck. I'd much rather have commentary from the folk involved. The Red and Rosetta commentaries from season 2 are GOLD. Gough and Millar gave GREAT commentaries, esp as compared to the relatively personalityless Peterson and Souders (I love those guys but, c'mon, facts is facts is facts). I doubt we'll get additional commentaries for previous seasons but it'd rock my socks if we got more than one or two commentaries for season 10. Something tells me that retrospective thing is going to be the main DVD extra in this son of a bitch though (and will likely be included in the standalone season 10 release).

Hey all. Been going through The Great Darkness Saga. It's a Legion of Super-Heroes storyline from the 80's where the Legion has to throw with Darkseid... and get their asses handed to them quite handily by Darkseid and his minions.

It's a good story and it's also really effective in showing just what a bad motherfucker Darkseid really is.

However, Darkseid through four of these five issues is an "energy avatar". Basically it's sort of an astral projection of Darkseid. Kind of. The dude doesn't even take on corporeal form until the last page of part 4. Up to then? He's the energy projection.

And that "mere" projection was more than enough to put Mon-El into a coma.

Don't fuck with Pre-Crisis Darkseid.

Anyway. But the Apologists bitch and moan about the energy projection version of Darkseid. "That's not from the comics!" Well. Not since they started reading (if they ever did, which is doubtful).

But in defense of the SV version of Darkseid...

There are other examples out there. I've seen Jack Kirby pages where the Darkseid projection took out the entire Justice League of America.

With. One. Punch.

Point is that there's tons of history of an energy projection Darkseid so don't buy into the Apologist line that SV is "once again" changing a bunch of stuff. As ever, SV is adhering pretty closely to the comics and, as ever, is getting jackshit in terms of credit.

I would've posted this sooner but it's not always easy to find exact issue numbers for these sorts of things.

I got roped into going to a Finale viewing party with some coworkers. Anyone else doing this. Should be a good time, plenty of food and drinks, and good people with the Pilot episode being aired first. I normally like to watch new episodes by myself, a little behind to skip commercials. Outside of the wife this is the first time I'll be watching Smallville with any one else. Of course, I will dvr it for a second viewing by myself.

A friend is trying like hell to talk me into watching it over at his place but it's not happening because I don't want his lurk of a roommate to fuck everything up for me. The roomie is supposedly this big Superman fan but (A) that motherfucker hasn't impressed me with jackshit of his "knowledge" and (B) he must know he doesn't know shit because all he ever does for any Superman adaptation is bitch and moan about the length of the cape, which side the hair should be parted, etc. I managed to deprogram him from being a total fucking Apologist a year or two ago but I can't deprogram him from being a dipshit.

So no, I'll be watching this, the final episode, all by my lonesome.

I kind of have a similar situation. Another coworker is going to be there. I'll give him credit, he's watched the entire series over the last 12mos or so and is on episode 18 of this season. His plan is to be able to have Finale be the only episode that he sees live. We discuss the episodes he watches the following day that he watches them and I point out which episodes are the better ones. Lots of times he's not on the same page as far as which are the better episodes and rags on quite a few of them. He knows this is a big deal for the other coworker and myself, I'm not going to feel like hearing all the sighs and groans and bitching and moaning from this guy.

Um, is that Welling in The Suit at the very end there? The colors certainly look different. Darker blue, brighter red, looks like longer hair. Tough to be sure.

I'm not too put off by that, tbh. With all love and respect for Welling, odds are good he would've glad-handed the show, the history and the fans thereof, made vague and oblique remarks about what we may or may not see in the finale, avoided certain questions, reiterated that he's under a gag-order from the network not to talk about certain stuff, talked about Hellcats, roll credits.
