Michael Rosenbaum For The Smallville Finale!!
Hey guys, check this out:
http://www.digitalspy.com/ustv/s85/smallville/news/a294524/smallville-execs-tried-for-rosenbaum.html
It seems that attempts are being made to 'woo' Michael Rosenbaum BACK to Smallville to reprise his role to lead up to the series finale. I originally found this at duh Homopage:
http://www.supermanhomepage.com/news.php?readmore=9042#comments
You MAY want to check that out for duh apologists comments. I haven't really given it the time of day yet but I'm SURE they won't disappoint!
Anyway, thoughts people? I personally wish he'd never left as I feel he's the BEST version of Luthor EVER! And his career hasn't exactly skyrocketed since his departure either. I say 'take the money & run'. It would also be better to have the REAL Lex back instead of clones also. I just wish if they do though that it would turn out that his 'death' was faked & it was really ONE of the clones instead as Lex would've had intelligence enough to have foreseen possible outcomes.

Re: Michael Rosenbaum For The Smallville Finale!!
I'm actually starting to wonder if there's someone involved with the SV production that he doesn't like. If he didn't want to come back for an episode or two in season 8 or 9, hey, can't fault him. But not wanting to come back for the final season? I think there's a story there we don't know about.

Re: Michael Rosenbaum For The Smallville Finale!!
Honestly, if the guy doesn't end up coming back for at least ONE episode, he is giving a BIG "middle finger" to fans of Smallville.
The guy was a big part of why it lasted as long as it did, and it really isn't asking too much for him to be a part of it's send-off. He hasn't been in anything that I have seen in the 2+ years since he left the show, and if anything it will be a decent check in his pocket. It's not like he is BJ Routh, and isn't working due to a lack of talent. Rosenbaum can act. They can write him into the series finale, takes a few days to a week to shoot, and he can "give something back" to the fans he made while on the show.
So unless it's something personal, do the freaking show.

RE: NO Michael Rosenbaum For The Smallville Finale?!
I think after Rosenbaum first left the show he said something to the effect that he was 'through with shaving his head'. Well, there's ways around that & have been for years, i.e., the 'bald cap' deal. So if he says THAT is the reason he isn't coming back, then I call BS on that! There HAS to be more to it than that! Like I said, his career hasn't exactly gone anywhere & I'm sure he could use the paycheck. He may originally have INTENDED for his career to go somewhere, hence leaving the show, but like I said, it hasn't gone ANYWHERE!
I can't think of who he might have a grudge against on the set of Smallville. I think I read comments from Tom Welling a while back, probably at duh Homopage where he was quoted from another link. Anyway, it sounded like even WELLING has tried to get Rosenbaum to come back to no avail! I don't think the problem is between them two. Could it be because Al & Miles are no longer calling the shots? Didn't he leave the show pretty much the same time period or just prior to that? Personally I think the CAST of Smallville is one of those rare instances where the actors become close like family. Naturally that would apply to 'Mike' as well.
I think Rosenbaum is also aware of his fan base & his standing for his incarnation of Lex Luthor. I'm like AP on THAT one! Do it for the kids, Michael! And us adults too! Please, man, put aside any differences & end this thing with a bang, NOT a whimper!

Re: Michael Rosenbaum For The Smallville Finale!!
Sure its a long shot he would appear. But that news article is a week old and never flat out said michael isn't back. There is still a fee months before finale. So who knows what will happen between now and then. I do hope michael does agree to appear in finale. But who knows there could be other behind the scenes factors in that. Michael has seemed more into a return last few months then before. So here hoping he does appear. Also another factor, the digital spy article states they got their information from that assignment x interview kelly/brian did. Which was released like a week or so ago, but that was confirmed by ksite to be old information taken around comic con time frame. So its likely this is OLD NEWS and isnt what is up now.

Re: Michael Rosenbaum For The Smallville Finale!!
It'd be a damn shame if he doesn't make an appearance. Welling was definitely quoted at Comic Con that he was working on getting Rosenbaum back.
I wouldn't get too worried just yet. As with most of these "statements", they're usually part of the negotiation game.
As long as they don't bring Lana back.

Re: Michael Rosenbaum For The Smallville Finale!!
Totally they have to april when filming happens for finale. So anything could change between now and then. Hopefully michael does agree. I just wish the yahoos over at cbm and smhp would correct there articles. Cause like I pointed out the digital spy article is quoting months old info from the producers.

Re: Michael Rosenbaum For The Smallville Finale!!
Well, any way you care to look at it, now would be the absolute worst possible time to announce anything, even if he was locked in to come back. It's something that you'd announce during the spring hiatus maybe a few weeks before new episodes start airing again and you're building up energy towards the finale.
Besides, several episodes are yet to be written, there's plenty of time for things to change.

Good point. It'd certainly be news worth making the most of in the run up to the finale.

In the end, there will be NO good reason for Rosenbaum to not show up in the finale at least, barring death or serious illness. The fans he made from the show won't forget it if he doesn't, methinks....

Too true. Plus his career post Smallville would hardly be affected by a guest appearance........

Re: Michael Rosenbaum For The Smallville Finale!!
I just read Rosenbaum has announced he's appearing on a convention panel alongside a few Smallville folk in March (?)
Frankly, if he turns up at that and not on the show's finale he'd be at risk of being lynched, surely.
I also read that Laura Van Der Voooooort is appearing at an Australian convention soon......I may have to attend that one! I wonder if there's any chance she'll re-enact the "Miss Corn Cob" parade for us?

Which would make MORE sense for him to actually be IN this season at some point.

It does suggest that hopefully a deal's been done, and the announcement will be a matter of timing.
Otherwise it would be a hell of an "up yours" to Smallville fans

If it comes down to it, if he doesn't come back this season, I really hope he doesn't expect a warm reception at that con. Methinks SV fans will show no mercy.Father Finian wrote:It does suggest that hopefully a deal's been done, and the announcement will be a matter of timing.

Re: Michael Rosenbaum For The Smallville Finale!!
And I just learned that Rosenbaum will be appearing with Supergirl at that Con down here in February......
I WILL attend. Even just to catch up with the lovely Mr Younis......
For some reason, I can't stop giggling at the moment at the thought of it.

.....and Colors...note how Eunuch has failed to report that yet too. It's only happening in his own personal Metropolis, Sydney!

Hit him with a tomato for me. If he ever makes it out here, I'll DEFINITELY hit him with SOMETHING.

As for the con, have fun. Give Laura our love. Or just my love, really. The other fuckers around here can find their own Supergirl.

Re: Michael Rosenbaum For The Smallville Finale!!
Thanks
Believe me, if Rosenbaum's just making a quick buck on the autograph circuit thanks to Smallville and only Smallville, whilst refusing to return to the actual show for a farewell appearance, I shall let him know!
Colors, I'll give Laura your regards.
p.s. re Laura V:A mate told me to check out the first ep of this season's "V"
