The Return of the Martian Manhunter in "Collateral?"

Several people have pointed us toward the Internet Movie Database listing of Phil Morris appearing as John Jones, the Martian Manhunter in this season's 12th episode, "Collateral."

So far, we have not heard any confirmation of this from official sources. IMDb postings are to be taken with a grain of salt - after all, they have "rumored" listings for the series finale that are almost certain to be untrue - but this one sounds like one that could have possibilities to be for real.

Also it looks like according to spoiler tv site that episode 11 icarus will be our mid season break airing dec 10.

From the sounds of it, Luthor will pay off some of the Veritas stuff from season 7. I kinda liked parts of that subplot and, hey, Glover's coming back. So what's not to love?

Well. An appearance from Rosenbaum would be kinda nice...

Yea having a full on real alt world is cool. I hope lionel there is as bad as he was in early yrs. Also can't wait to see how bad clark inreal world.

Was over at hype boards and someone mentioned on ksite twitter feed that they heard some ramblings for something big for sv. Only hint was its not rosenbzum news. Can't wait to see what it is.

Oh totally I hope it isn't her. Though I doubt it is. If I recall kristen recently has stated she doesn't want to or isn't planning a return. I would think maybe they scored some big casting news for an upcoming episode, to maybe another big absolute justice type of episode, or maybe scored rights to a big dc hero/villain. Hopefully we find out soon.

Ksite has revealled that allison mack is returning in episode 12. Originally she was returning in episode 13.

Also in other news ksite has stated black canery return in episode 11 will just be a cameo, but will be a bigger role in episode 12 which she also is going to be in.

Isn't this an "alternate reality" episode, where Clark was raised by Lionel Luthor?

That's how I understood it. I'm a season 7 junkie and Lionel's various conflicts were played with a little that season. I'm guessing it'll be a universe where Lionel managed to whack the other Veritas members, locate Clark and raise him to be, well, a Luthor.

But honestly, I'm the last guy to ask for objectivity here. I'm for anything that gets Glover back for an episode or two.

No what annette was saying in episode 13 glover will also make an appearance in. He first is showing up in alt world in ep ten. If you saw the tv guide article it was stated glover will appear in four episodes.

Also just read on another board, tv guide mega buzz stated that the producers are looking to cast another villain. They said rhey are looking for someone chissled, and the little details they said is he gets powers after an accident and idolizes clark. But has a darkness growing in him. Hmm I wonder if this will be another darkseid minion/other villain from dc lore. Though to me it sounds more like the producers old games of releasing fake descriptions to cover up what they are really looking for. My guess if its a coverup maybe its for darkseid true form. They also said the role is recurring.

You're half-right, but Smallville boss Kelly Sounders tells us, "Right now the heroes are under a lot of scrutiny, so Martha's the powerful woman we set her up to be. We last saw her as the Red Queen and when we see her again she's just as strong and powerful and has just as much of an impact on Clark's life." Look for Annette's return in episode 13.

Sorry to disappoint, but I'm told there are no plans for a return.

Well sucks first no john jones right now. My guess phil morris is busy with his other projects. Hopefully they can get him back at least for a cameo before the season is out. As for the martha news my guess she probably goes against the govt laws and wants to help the heroes out and maybe show the govt that the heroes are not the bad guys.

Some new spoilers two episode titles. Episode 14 will be titled masquerade and episode 16 will be titled scion.

Geoff johns has announced on his twitter his booster gold/blue beetle episode will be episode 17 and titled booster.

Is it just me....or is this season starting to feel like a whole bunch of filler until the finale. I find some episodes to be such fluff without the season's theme progressing and if it does progress its extermely slowly.

I mean the Luthor episode was ok....but I mean seriously....was it really necessary?

I don't have the same feeling as you there. I haven't thought anything was filler. The season storylines have been moving pretty well I think.

01- Define "filler" for me.
02- How is what the show is doing this season any different from seasons past?
03- For that matter, how is it different from what similarly structured and styled shows do?
04- Don't you think it's a bit premature to make that type of evaluation given that we don't know what the conclusion of this thing will be?
05- If this thing plays out similarly to how Legends (an 80's DC crossover) did, which is certainly possible since this season arc seems to heavily based on those comics, I suspect a lot of whiners are going to have redefine what they previously called "fillers" this year.
