I wonder if that will still be true after July?
Even more so. They had to guarantee him they would finance ANY movie or movies he wanted to make in order for him to come back and finish with Batman.

Well I guess Nolan will have to do 'Inception 2' or whatever but just stay away from superheroes! He may have made a ton of money for WB from his Batman franchise but at the same time he does not want a shared universe. And somehow the chimps at WB pay heed to him. Meanwhile..........over at MARVEL STUDIOS..........
Need I say more?

Re: 'Man Of Steel' Movie Logo
You don't even have to go to Marvel Studios for a case study. Smallville makes even Marvel blush when it comes to setting up a larger universe. The only major characters they really missed out on (and not for lack of trying) were Wonder Woman and Batman. And Green Lantern, I guess. I think SV proves that you can do a shared universe with DC properties and have it work out.non_amos wrote:Apologist Puncher wrote:non_amos wrote:Duh brothers Warner.

Hell, to this day I'm convinced the only reason we never got a Green Arrow spinoff show after SV's sixth season was because the CW wanted to focus on teen girl dramas. Had season 6 happened under the old WB management, I feel confident a GA show would've happened. Or if it hadn't happened, it would've probably been because WB had already picked up the Aquaman thing Gough and Millar did with Hartley... and I would've understood if they didn't want to be perceived as "the superhero network" at the expense of their other programming.

Re: 'Man Of Steel' Movie Logo
But didn't SV infer Wonder Woman or something? What I mean is, I think I missed some eps in there or something but I remember watching one where Clark was talking with other heroes & he called this brunette woman DIANA, which led me to believe that since that's the civilian name that WW goes by. But whether I'm right about that or not, I'm sure I didn't ever hear Clark call someone BRUCE. But it wasn't for lack of wanting to, right?
As for the AQUAMAN pilot, interestingly I found that online last week & 'saved' it but haven't watched it yet. And yeah, it had a picture of Justin Hartley too.

Season Three
- In Asylum, a newspaper headline reads "Themyscirian Queen Address The Vatican", which refers to Wonder Woman's mother, Queen Hippolyta, and the home of the Amazons, Themyscira.
Season Seven
- In Wrath, Lois is in the hospital after Lana throws her through a glass door, she tells Clark that his girlfriend has issues and an Amazonian left hook. Which is ironic because in season 8 Lana Lang would permanently gained the Pre-Crisis powers of Wonder Woman, Super speed, Super Strength and Invulnerbility.
Season Nine
- In Warrior, Lois goes to a comic book convention and wears a costume highly similar to Wonder Woman's. She also clarifies that the outfit is supposed to represent an Amazon princess.
- Warrior Angel's emblem seems similar to Wonder Woman's logo.
Season Ten
- Wonder Woman deflects Darkseid's Omega beams with her bracelets from reaching Superman.
- In Supergirl, Kara uses her bracelet to deflect Darkseid's approachment to protect Clark. Much like Wonder Woman had used her bracelets to deflect Darkseid's Omega beams against Superman.
- In Icarus, Hawkman uses his arm gauntlet as a shield to deflect Slade's gun bullets very similar to how Wonder Woman usually does with her magic bracelets when guns are being fired at her.
- In Fortune, Chloe mentions how she encountered other heroes while she was away and she mentioned how she encountered "a wondrous woman who's gonna throw you for a loop".

Re: 'Man Of Steel' Movie Logo
Certainly not. There was always some Batman film thing going on that gummed up the works. That makes sense, you know? See, you can develop a Superman film and a (thankfully unrelated) Superman TV show at the same time, no problem. But you can't let a young, pre-Batman Bruce Wayne guest star on that Superman TV show while a film is being developed. Because the world will end.non_amos wrote:But whether I'm right about that or not, I'm sure I didn't ever hear Clark call someone BRUCE. But it wasn't for lack of wanting to, right?
You can let a costumed Batman make a cameo appearance on Birds of Prey, a Batman-centric TV show, though. That would be just fine.
Anywho, Chloe made a veiled reference to Bruce in Fortune ("a billionaire with some cool toys" or some such) but that's about as far as it ever got.

Re: 'Man Of Steel' Movie Logo
Yeah, I see all of that but who was that that Clark specifically called 'Diana' in some episode, I don't remember which one? There were other heroes present. Was that supposed to be someone else then? Or was it a 'veiled' attempt at somewhat portraying WW without really portraying her?

What I'm referring to happened in the latter part of the series, my guess would be season 8 or 9 with me leaning towards 9. I don't believe it was season 10. I also don't remember the name of the episode. To tell you the truth, I don't really keep up with the names for the most part, I just watch them & forget the names. Now the original STAR TREK TV series? Or OUTER LIMITS? Yeah, I know a lot of those episodes' names by heart but that's also due to a lifetime of watching them as well. SV is more recent in comparison. But anyway, Clark calling the hot brunette chick 'Diana' I suppose is the sort of thing one could miss if they don't really pay it any mind. It probably only caught my attention because 1) the chick already had my attention to begin with & 2) when he said 'Diana', WW is what I thought. The ep may have included the JUSTICE LEAGUE in some format or some part-assembly of characters. That's who I'm thinking the other heroes were from memory. Anyway, I wasn't referring to Lois as WW or any of that. That stuff didn't even cross my mind. If anyone finds out what this was though just post away.

Re: 'Man Of Steel' Movie Logo
Hm. Do you maybe mean Dinah? As in the Black Canary? As you probably know, she had a few guest appearances on the show, the first of which was in season 7... wherein she wore a dark/brunette wig.

Actually, no. I remembered who Dinah/Black Canary was. The woman I'm talking about I only saw once, period. It was like someone who was just on that one episode. I don't think I mistook Dinah for her. At the time it appeared to have been someone I hadn't ever seen before & never saw again. But I couldn't pinpoint it myself without watching them again or Youtube or something. I'm fairly certain I didn't dream it. But yeah, that memory is what inspired me to ask that question.

I suppose it's possible I could've misunderstood what Clark said but I didn't think I did. But Web, are you that familiar with all the episodes to know that I'm wrong?

Re: 'Man Of Steel' Movie Logo
I watch sv countless times. And I for one never once remember diana being named or said by clark. As I said only true ref to her was in season three, and that bats/ww comment chloe made to clark. And we got lucky even getting those nods to them. Since said characters where offlimits to them. Which is why we got on the other dc characters we had on show. Same for example that warrior angel/comic con episode. It was plan to be captain marvel but they didn't get rights so the altered it to be a take on that in show comic character of warrior angel.

Where did you hear that? The relation to Captain Marvel is pretty clear but I never knew it was supposed to be Captain Marvel.webhead2006 wrote:I watch sv countless times. I don't recall fully myself. But I did remember at the start of that season/development of episode they where trying to score the rights. Which as we saw fell through. It was probably ksite I read the rumors at. Or another spoilers/news site.

Re: 'Man Of Steel' Movie Logo
Im really liking this new logo, especially in that banner. It looks like it has character and meaning and doesn't look like a plastic S some 8 year old made with photoshop like the SR logo. It also conveys power (imo). I was never too big on the ´´standard`` S, it's too dull for my taste.
edit: oh no no no no, what is that ugly thing doing under my nickname, Im (the goddamn) Superman not some cosplaying clown in a tranny costume!!

It's a ranking. Newbies start off with Blandon and then progress up the chain to better actors. The key to getting a new icon is posting more.Superman wrote:Im really liking this new logo, especially in that banner.
