Heh, funny. But not at Superman's expense. The Superman IV music was a good touch too. There's a concert version of the main title march from the STM score that has been so used and abused in miscellaneous fan tribute videos on YouTube that I'm fast reaching the point where I would die a happy man if I never heard it again. I was half expecting that to pop up in the video and was relieved when it never did.

Not at all, which was good.

You know, ever since Singerman took a heaping dump all over the Donner/Reeve series, I've grown to HATE seeing people riff off of those films now. If I want to watch something using Williams' theme or see the Reeve costume, I will watch Superman I-IV. And it makes me sad.
10 years ago I never would have said that.

Singerman produced many reactions from me. Prior to its release, I regarded Donner stuff in other media as being an unnecessarily safe choice. It felt like people had begun depending on that as the mythos rather than taking risks developing their own ideas. Oddly enough, Singerman gave me a new appreciation for what Donner pulled off now that Singer had made a truly putrid version of what Donner built. Donner's vision and restraint suddenly took on a new level of respectability for me.Apologist Puncher wrote:You know, ever since Singerman took a heaping dump all over the Donner/Reeve series, I've grown to HATE seeing people riff off of those films now. It galvanized my preference for a complete reboot but it also softened what might have become a militant (and unnecessary) anti-Donner thing simply because I was sick of that version. After all, it's to his credit rather than his shame that he gave Superman a dignity and respectability that arguably endures to this very day.
Of course, SV was a partial casualty in this. I kind of liked their riffs on various Williams tracks, the crystal FOS and that stuff at the time. But, after Singerman, I really regretted those things and kinda wished SV had developed their takes on things. And although they arguably did with their new Superman hero theme, the FOS was what it was. But, again, it isn't their fault Singer screwed the pooch in his abortion of a movie.
Heh. As ever, it seems so much of this comes back to Singer squandering such a golden opportunity. I truly believe no filmmaker will ever have the window of opportunity to make a truly awesome Superman film that Singer pissed all over.

Just watched the video. Nice little short there. The animation looked good, solid work from the maker.
