'Superman Vs. Batman' & 'Justice League Of America' To Shoot Back To Back? Jla10

The long anticipated Justice League film may be coming to the big screen sooner than we thought, according to one of many rumors reported by Latino-Review. Sources speaking with the site claim that the plan is to film Justice League and Batman vs. Superman (or whatever name Man of Steel 2 ends up with) back-to-back, which potentially means Justice League could be released in 2016.

The site goes on to say that this has always been the plan, which explains why there may be so many superheros in the films – Wonder Woman has been confirmed, and several other names have been mentioned as possibly appearing, including: Nightwing, Flash, Green Lantern, and Martian Manhunter.

Although these stories are all coming from unnamed sources, the news actually makes a lot of sense if you believe the other big rumor: Batman vs. Superman will end on a major cliffhanger that would lead directly into Justice League. If true, all of those cameos (with a few possible exceptions), may simply appear at the very end of the film as a teaser for what is to come.

The report goes on to address the earlier news that Dwayne Johnson is in discussions to appear in a DC film, and claims that the film he is in talks to appear in is Justice League. There’s still no news on who he might play though. One story that was apparently refuted, however, is that Jason Momoa will not appear in Batman vs. Superman as was originally reported. The actor seemingly confirmed this himself, but would not go into detail.

One other piece of potential Batman vs. Superman news comes to us from CBM, and claims that Lost alumn Josh Holloway is being “strongly” considered for a role. It wasn’t clear who the actor – who currently stars in the recently debuted CBS drama Intelligence - would play, but that hasn’t stopped people from speculating. One of the more popular theories is that is up for the role of Aquaman. Again though, consider that a rumor built on top of a rumor.

With the film gearing up to begin production this year, we should hear more and more casting news in the coming months – some of it true, some of it not. Still, nothing wrong with some good, ole’ fashion speculation.
