I had a feeling Affleck was going to be VERY hands-on with this film. That can only be a GOOD thing:

'Batman Vs. Superman’ Recruits ‘Argo’ Writer Chris Terrio

The Oscar winner has a strong relationship with Warner Bros. and star Ben Affleck
Chris Terrio, who won an Oscar for writing “Argo,” has been hired to write the latest draft of “Batman Vs. Superman,” an individual familiar with the project has told TheWrap.
Warner Bros. has no comment.
Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill star as the titular superheroes, while Gal Gadot will be introduced as Wonder Woman. Jason Momoa is also in talks for an unspecified role, and the studio reportedly has its eye on its “Her” star Joaquin Phoenix to play Lex Luthor, though his representatives had no comment regarding that rumor.
Phoenix has been sought for several high-profile roles over the years, though the notoriously selective actor has turned many of them down in order to do more challenging indie films such as “The Master” and “Her,” for which he recently earned a Golden Globe nomination.
“Man of Steel” stars Amy Adams, Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne will also return for the comic book sequel, which hits theaters July 17, 2015.
Terrio scripted Affleck’s Best Picture winner “Argo,” so he has a strong relationship with the Batman actor. He will rewrite David Goyer’s screenplay, as Goyer is in the midst of developing several projects including WB’s “Sandman” movie, which he’ll produce with Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Terrio is represented by WME, Anonymous Content and attorney James Feldman.
The Hollywood Reporter broke the news.

As much as I like Man of Steel, parts of it seem really film school scripty to me. "This scene is here because of X. This next scene is here because it ties in with Y." So yes, I agree, a second set of hands can't be a bad thing.

Since rumor is that Affleck will be directing the follow-up Batman solo films, it makes sense that he would do his best to make sure this film, and his character, is as good as it CAN be.
Getting your fellow Oscar-nominated pal to do some re-writes is a smart move.

I've heard those rumors too. Not sure what to think of them. If he had a longer track record to his name, my attitude would be to never bet against Ben Affleck as a director. But since he's still kind of new to it... I dunno. I'll tell you one thing though, site-unseen I'm still pretty sure I'd like an Affleck-directed Batman franchise more than more Nolan stuff.

'Gone Baby Gone'. 'The Town'. 'Argo'.
All I need to know to be convinced that Affleck is a MORE than capable director.

I haven't watched Argo yet but The Town was awesome! Incidentally I won the super-duper special edition Blu-Ray online in a sweepstakes. What gets me though is that part of duh Internet outrage over Affleck seems to continually harp on Daredevil & Gigli. I mean, where have these imbeciles been the past 10 years?

Liked both THE TOWN and ARGO. Have yet to see GONE BABY GONE, but even just seeing THE TOWN I was convinced Affleck becoming a director was a great thing for him.

Academy Award-winning screenwriter Chris Terrio was hired back in December last year to rewrite the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice script, which was initially written by David Goyer. And after "absolutely crushing" the prequel to Zack Snyder's Justice League, which is said to be filming back-to-back, Deadline reports that Warner Bros. is now courting the writer to script the most highly-anticipated DC superhero team-up movie too. "Sources say one of Terrio's tasks with the Batman v. Superman rewrite was to set up the Justice League," reports The Hollywood Reporter. Anyhow, expect some official updates from Warner Bros. tomorrow during its big Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con, where big Dawn of Justice surprises are guaranteed. We may also get an official release date for Justice League, in which Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Ray Fisher and Jason Momoa are among others expected to reprise their superhero roles.
