Christian Bale Doesn't Rule Out a Fourth Batman

This entire time we've all been lead to believe that the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises would be the final entry in Chris Nolan's Batman series, and with good cause because that's what he said.

But recently in an interview with Empire magazine, Christian Bale isn't ruling out a fourth entry to the series.

Warning: Potential spoilers for The Dark Knight Rises.

"My understanding is that this is the last one. I think it's appropriate, I think it's going out at the right time. But...if Chris came to me with a script and said, 'You know what? There is another story' then I would love the challenge of making a fourth one work," he said.

Is Bale legitimate in his quote? Or is it, as some fans have said, simply said to be misleading due to many rumors that Batman won't make it through the end of the film. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters on July 20th.

What kind of mind games is Bale playing here?! Does he really think Nolan will be back for a 4th installment?! As for if there's another story, there's always another story for Batman. Even better if Nolan's not writing or directing it.

non_amos wrote:It makes you wish that Michael Keaton could come back but he's too old now, that is, unless that did a literal adaptation of Frank Miller's THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS. I know they're gonna do an animated version but I mean a live-action. Which I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for. Even if there's a reboot eventually, I doubt it'd take this route but would probably just start over. But it does make you homesick for those days, that's for certain!
