Bleh!
But on the other hand, asking for an impressive poster for a movie I feel absolutely no connection to seems like kind of a tall order...

Not surprising WB is jumping on this formula.

Now can you believe this? I saw that article at SHH & then made the mistake of reading a number of the comments to said article & poster. It basically appears to deteriorate into a slugfest between realists & Nolanites! Here's a portion:
http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/170689-a-new-poster-for-the-dark-knight-rises-is-here
So I guess the gist of it is, according to duh Nolanites, is that it doesn't matter if Avengers wins the box office. TDKR will still be the better film, more 'intellectual' & more loved, a 'thinking man's superhero film' compared to the mindless action of the Avengers. Box office simply won't matter.
Gee, where have I heard that before?

Go piss up a flagpoll... F*ck box office records. Rises will knock Avengers on its ass, EASILY, when talking about overall movie-quality! Suck it... You're going down. Pure and simple. In that regard, this isn't even a contest. You guys are holding Avengers up so incredibly high, it's rather pathetic.

If you think TDKR is even going to get close to The Avengers your sir are delusional

Never knew this was a box office race. TDK is still the best superhero of all time. No hype was necessary, just plain great storytelling and this one will be the same. Really don't care who makes the most money. The Avengers was typical Marvel, simple with lots of action. Same formula for all the movies so far and nothing is wrong with that. NOlan wants people to appreciate his movie for what it is. No 3D or any other crap the dilute his creation. Just go and enjoy and stop this nonsense. By the way i watched Avengers and it was good, i enjoyed it. But TDK blew me away just how deep it was and i suspect the same with this one as wel

Well-said man. The Avengers was great...very entertaining. But no superhero movie has been as deep as The Dark Knight. And in a sense...when you go to watch a movie like Avengers...I guess you're looking for something other than what TDK gave us. I'll watch the Marvel films for some great action and the same formula. I'll watch Nolan films for the great acting, writing, and production.

Like Avengers didn't have great acting, writing, and production. Just because TDK was talky and dark doesn't mean it was the best superhero movie. Yeah, I liked it a lot but it was 30 minutes too long. Avengers was the perfect SUPERhero movie, hands down. Because Batman, above all else, is a superhero and there wasn't that much SUPERheroics in TDK. Sorry.

Seesh with them huh. And not every film has to be deep and meaning to still be a good film.

Re: "New" 'The Dark Knight Rises' Poster?
Funny you say that. Back when TDK was making a lot of money, the Nolanites used the movie's success as evidence of, um, something.non_amos wrote:So I guess the gist of it is, according to duh Nolanites, is that it doesn't matter if Avengers wins the box office. Now that it's been outgrossed (at least internationally; too lazy to check about the domestic side) by Avengers, all at once box office doesn't matter, it's all about critical acclaim, Academy awards, etc.
Look, I don't absolutely hate TDK. There are some good bits in there. The stuff where Batman goes to China, kidnaps Lao and drags him back to the States for questioning? Loved it! That's Batman. He doesn't have borders. He'll do what he has to do to get his man. But Nolan makes it a practice to suck everything fun about Batman out of the proceedings. And yeah, Batman is a fun character. Maybe not as much as other characters but there is some good, fun entertainment value there... but you wouldn't think so based on Nolan's stuff.
I was wondering if I was the only one who'd make that particular connection.non_amos wrote:Gee, where have I heard that before?

Wow! There sure was a lot of colors in those posters, no? I guess THE AVENGERS better just go ahead & throw in the towel.

Well, at least we're getting a better look at Catwoman's outfit. I'm not completely sure that's a good thing though.

Once again Nolan is missing the mark. It doesn't tell us much of anything about the movie at all. Plus... Batman smiles??? Whatever, Nolan's clearly lost it.non_amos wrote:Just in you guys! The latest poster for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES:

Re: "New" 'The Dark Knight Rises' Poster?
Another new TDKR poster courtesy of my Facebook account:
OUT OF MY WAY PARKER?!
I found the Adam West poster hilarious but this one? It kinda pisses me off a little! It's an obvious Nolanite poster for one thing. For another, I actually enjoyed the Spiderman reboot so I don't appreciate whoever is dissing it. Your thoughts?
EDIT TO ADD: How about an Avengers fan poster showing it crushing TDKR? With a definite HULK presence? Problem is I don't know how to make these manips but anyone else that does, be my guest.

Honestly? When I saw just the photo I thought it was one of those ´´perverted`` type manips, as Batman looks like he's humping Spidey.

Does put the "Rises" thing into a different context, I'll grant you that.Alf wrote:non_amos wrote:Your thoughts?
