10.18, Booster (spoilers)

Everyone's talking about the finale trailer but this shouldn't be overlooked either, if you ask me.

It would be OK with me if, to fill the void left by Smallville's departure, if the CW would actually have more superhero programming. Whether it's Booster Gold or Blue Beetle or both or neither, they should at least do something. There's also the 'Conner Kent' idea, which to tell you the truth, after his metamorphosis into Conner, it looked like they might be setting that up anyway. Who knows? But do something! Hey, whatever happened to that Batman TV idea I posted on these forums last Fall?! That idea they had for after Nolan is finished with his trilogy? Or do Supergirl. Or Green Arrow. Or something else.

DO SOMETHING!

Booster comerical was pretty funny. Eric is so dead on for him.

Well Tonight was the 18th episode of the final season titled "Booster". Writen by dc comics scrib Geoff johns and directed by Tom welling. We get to meet both dc heroes Booster gold, blue beetle, and ted kord. Geoff johns wrote great script tonight, alot of good nods, refrences and all that stuff Loved the superman stuff the most.

The plotline with booster was pretty cool. wanting to come to the past to be a hero/ gain all the fame. Even with taking clark kent/superman spot in history from him. This parallel pretty well with the storyline of jaime. Who didnt see himself being that great of a guy. With the beetle bonding with him and taking him over control. Due to him not being able to handle the power it had. Also the plot continuing with clark being more shy/dorky to make it so folks cant see him as the blur/superman was nice. Sure the bumbling was a bit much, it was nice. Though i rather have a more balanced out deal with clark kent identity and superman. Like how clark was earlier or say dean cain take of the whole superman/clark kent identity in his show.

Geoff johns script was pretty great all around. He wrote lois and clark pretty great. Alot of great nods and refrences to things were handled pretty well. also he got booster gold down to a T. It was great way he wrote him. Blue beetle was also used pretty nicely. I loved the use of skeets too. I was hoping he would be used.

Tom as director was spot on tonight. He has grown alot since he first started directing. He had good direction out of erica, keri, and booster/jaime actors. They were all pretty good all around. His pacing was also very good it flowed very well from scene to scene. He also had good camera movements and blocking/placing of action scenes and the more dramatic stuff.

Now for acting Tom first as always. He did pretty good tonight. I liked that the episode was alot of focus on clark. Tom played the clumsy/bumbling clark kent well. I would like it toned down a bit myself. But tom played heroic clark and the clark kent identity very well. I cant wait to see h ow it all ends.

Erica was great as lois tonight. She was great showing clark how to be a nerdy fool, and trying to help jaime out to being stronger. Also loved the competition with kat for promotion. That was all played out well.

Keri as kat was a nice touch tonight. She was a delight to see. She played kat much better this time then the past episodes with her in them. I liked that she is much nicer to heroes now. Showing she is changing.

Eric martsoff was great as booster. He did played the character the right way. He was funny, charming and a ego driven jerk. Everything booster was in the comics and the cartoons he has appeared in. I really enjoyed eric as booster too.

The actor playing jaime was also pretty good. As out of luck kid and trying to become a hero with the power of the beetle. He wasnt used alot. But he still did pretty good with what little he was given.

All in all a great episode all around. Loved that lois is moving up to a better position. The story was good all around and the action was great. It was a good way to put the episode here and getting clark to where he needs to be as superman. Also the promo for next week with the return of zod was was pretty wicked. So cant wait for it next week. Only a few more to go to the end.

Dug it. I like how the show's been running with Superman as an inspirational force. He did it twice last week and (arguably) twice this week.

The Booster Gold casting was pitch perfect. The guy was every obnoxious thing Booster Gold ought to be.

I was a little less happy with Jaime, but that's only because the guy looked a lot like this asshole I know in real life. Luckily they behave nothing alike.

Ya I so thought eric was dead on for booster. He played him the right way. And I too like the clark inspiring others that is a key thing superman does.

Really enjoyable piece of Superman. Good stuff.

To be honest, I'll miss this show.
