Thanks. As noted elsewhere, Smallville does the "Hangover"
Looks like a fun episode. You need a comic relief episode every so often. Well, the ones of us with a sense of humor appreciate it.
Again, they're writing a TV show, not a comic book. See previous episode thread.

Totally its not wrong to have a fun episode every now and again. Plus for all we know there could be alot of serious stuff too. But definately can't wait for funny scenes.

Re: 10.15, Fortune (spoilers)
Well tonight was the 15th episode of the final season of smallville. It was titled Fortune written by Anne Cofell Saunders and directed by Christopher Petry. Tonight featured a guest appearance of a lemur. Allison's mack final appearance possibly. Plus Amos fortune from the comics. On the lighter side of things it was a nice hangover Homage.
Tonight was a very interesting episode. Sure i know alot hate that the homage to movies. But tonight was classic. It was one sure funny episode. I had alot of laughs throughout the episode.
To start out with zatanna spiking their drinks to the end it was a nice ride. The wake up scenes with clark and chloe at the farm and lois and ollie at the tracks were good. Loved them trying to figure out what the heck happened. It made for some nice character dynamics throughout the episode.
I thought anne did a great job with having the character dynamics with emil/tess, chloe/clark, and lois/ollie. They all played off each other very well. Anne did well also on the comedy bits throughout the episode. Like i said earlier i laughed so much tonight i couldnt really stop at all.
It was nice to see chloe and clark having one last scooby adventure together. They worked out pretty good together. Emil and tess as elvis singers were classic. Same with lois and ollie finding out what happened and ending up at the casino.
The amos character was interesting. His man and the casino was fun. Probably was a redress talon set again. But the designers did well tonight with it. Also loved the fight scenes there and the save with clark with emil in the brace. Lois and ollie as showgirls was another good scene there.
Directing, christopher did good work tonight. Homaged the hangover drunk bit was great. Also lighting was good. Same with camera angles and blocking. Christopher did good work with the cast. I am sure they had a blast shooting this episode.
The acting was pretty good tonight. We got to see everyone in a different shade of light tonight. Tom was great with the comedy and playing drunk. I had fun watching him. And i am sure tom enjoyed the episode shooting too. I know he has said that play clark different is fun for him.
Erica was great tonight too. She played caring/worried lois well. She didnt have much funny scenes but the whole ring chase was pretty good. Cassidy as Tess was funny too playing drunk and signer.
Emil's actor was nice to see tonight. Hope we get to see more of him in the remainder. He was so dam funny as elvis singer. Also then playing the scared guy was good.
As for justin he was pretty much his usual self. So he did great tonight. Ollie was good all around. As i said earlier in review man it was so dam funny to see him as showgirl. The fight scene was pretty good too in the dress.
As for allison, being this was her possible last appearance. I thought she was pretty good. she had some great scenes with clark/tom, and justin, and erica. I thought she acted pretty well tonight. I will miss seeing her. Sure last few yrs havent been the best. But i still have enjoyed allison on the show. I did like that her story was left open a bit. So hopefully she does make a cameo in the finale i hope. I did like that they decided to have her move away like i thought she would and become a writer again. Also nice she said she still wants to help heroes out when she can on the side.
All in all it was a nice episode. Laughed alot which was great. I saw no problem having one last fun, lighthearted episode. To break up the season and we get back to the more serious stuff with the rest of the season. The hangover stuff was great. Also nice ref to batman and wonder woman in the episode if that is what they really were going for. Allison had a nice exit and curious that they had ollie and her be the ones that got married.
I am curious to see if they leave them be married in this universe. Sure i wish they ended their relationship. Would have been nice. So we can get into maybe a dinah/ollie bit at the end of the season. But interesting to see what they do there. The promo for next week looks to be a good one. Cant wait to see where the conner storyline goes next week.

This was actually a lot better than I was expecting. I thought it was a 1/5 or 2/5 for sure. But it had a lot of heart in it and some funny moments.

Re: 10.15, Fortune (spoilers)
As it got underway I started to get worried. It could've been absolutely cringe worthy, but how could you not help but laugh along?
It seemed very "Lois & Clark" in spirit.
Plus we got to see Durance wearing very little again, and for the Homopage members they got Ollie in women's make up and drag as a tribute to Brandon Routh & Singerman. You can't say Smallvillie doesn't try to cater to everybody!
