Bryan Singer STILL Doesn't Get It!
The motherfucker STILL doesn't get it!
Those quotes up there should tell you just about everything you need to know when it comes to how fit to make a Superman movie Bryan Singer NEVER was.Bryan Singer to Voices From Krypton wrote:Plus you had that complicated relationship between the Richard White character and Lois Lane that might have thrown people off. Quentin Tarantino and I had a big conversation about it — he has a fascination with this film and he wrote this whole essay about it, but the Lois Lane part of it has always been a stickler with him. This is me extrapolating, but the relationship in the Donner film was so black and white and here it was complex. Adding to that, of course, was the child that was involved. Again, I really do think I was making the film for that Devil Wears Prada audience of women who wouldn’t normally come to a superhero film.

RE: Bryan Singer STILL Doesn't Get It!
Speaking of THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, didn't that come out at the same time as Singerman? And didn't it go on to be considered more successful than Singerman, in a sense, when you consider its' budget, opening weekend, etc. I'm not even sure what that film's budget was & don't feel like looking it up but I do seem to remember even it stomped Singerman when you consider the factors like I mentioned. I have the DVD somewhere & to this day I haven't watched it but now I may have to do so, just to see Anne Hathaway. Anyway, when you see Singer have this stance for his 'demographic', it's no wonder we got Singerman! It's like they say, don't send a 'boy' (Singer) to do a man's job (Snyder)!

Re: Bryan Singer STILL Doesn't Get It!
It goes beyond even that, actually. There was a point after POTC 2 came out that, because of spillover, the Devil Wears Pradda outgrossed Singerman one weekend. Every movie out that weekend went up EXCEPT for Singerman because of the spillover.non_amos wrote:Speaking of THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, didn't that come out at the same time as Singerman? And yeah, in terms of profit dollars, there's no comparison between Devil Wears Pradda and Singerman. Strange how a low budget comedy can kick the snot out of a major tentpole... until you realize the tentpole is Singerman.

Here's a good quote from Duh HomoPage, of all places:

Amen Ultrawoman! I, too, am a female Superman fan and was greatly disappointed in this movie. ( I didn't like Devil wears Prada, either-- That was a romantic movie??). I thought he overdid the Donner tribute. I always remember coming out of the theatre and hearing someone calling Superman "a dead beat dad" and all I could think was Way to go, Singer. Nice way to ruin Superman's image.

Without a doubt the movie would have been subjected to that if the internet was around..But, if you honestly think that the internet is what kept it from getting a sequel then you have no idea how Hollywood really works. Did the fan division have something to do with it? yeah. But, we forget that back when the SR Wars were in full swing there was just as many people on both sides of the argument.
Make no mistake. If the suits thought that a sequel would have made them a crap load of money they would have done it. REGARDLESS of what was being said..They just would have made sure that the sequel addressed the complaints and made sure we knew they were going to do that.

Well, depending on when you start measuring, yeah, I could believe the Apologists outnumbered the Realists on the Younis page at a certain point. When Fuehrer Younis realized all the shit-talking we Realists were doing against his cash cow, he and Herr Bailey started censoring/banning people who posed a threat to the party line and their little group of Apologist youths. If you start THEN, hell yeah, I could TOTALLY see Apologists outnumbering Realists on the Younis page.Apologist Puncher wrote:*REVISIONIST HISTORY ALERT*

On other forums, I really don't know.
The main issue here is that it's hard to know what people said back then since the Younis page seems to purge comments after a certain point. It's difficult to be sure who said what because there's just no record. That makes it probable that swrong is making shit up as he goes along to protect his whore of a master.
But the Singerman Sucks page has comments going alllllllll the way back to right after opening day. YOU tell ME which is more objective. The fact is that Realists woke up to what was going on in pretty short fucking order. Many of them were never onboard with Singer but you'd be hardpressed to find one who didn't finally turn against Singerman by Friday, 07.07.2006, which, imho, is when lines were finally drawn in the sand and sides were chosen. Maybe a few stragglers joined the Realist cause after that but not too many.
All of this to say "fuck swrong!"

Re: Bryan Singer STILL Doesn't Get It!
I used to read the SingerHomoHype boards, and it was VERY similar to what Duh HomoPage did. Banned ANYONE who talked shit about Singerman. These two, out of many, tried to keep-up the "illusion" that EVERYONE "loved" Singerman. Why? Because they were HOPING that there would be a "squeal", and wanted trips to locations, interviews, and to blow ANYONE who would give them anything. The rest of us were only interested in letting people know the TRUTH. Singerman Peeps sucked.
And guess what? The right people heard us. swretard can say what he wants, but I know this for a FACT.
Fuck you, swretard. And fuck you too Steve Eunuch.

You made the movie for the "DWP" audience??? That was smart......Is anyone going to tell them?
I wouldn't bother. Most women I know prefer their superheroes to look like real men. And they probably have an eye for fashion, so not much to get their interest there either.
Singer, let it go and go the fuck away.
