The throbbing vein he had in his left arm in the suit is nowhere to be found in his pictures without his shirt but it's on the one with the suit on.. hmmmm wonder how that is? Because the suit is made to show his definition! They included the vein to show how strong he is.
I'll give him credit Cavil got ripped for the part no doubt but he still is slightly shorter then my ideal Superman, and he's about 20lbs lighter but that's also due to his near 2 1/2 inches of height missing from him.

If it was BJ Routh playing Superman, looking exactly like Cavill, he would be saying:

I've hated more on Routh for his lack of Superman look then anyone I know I ran a site called www.brandonrouthisnotsuperman.cjb.net for about 3 years while the movie Singerman Returds was in production, and then came out, and flopped! I'm the one who got a hold of Dan Harris online, and gave him hell over casting this dude as Superman, and for taking the liberties with the Donner verse they were taking. I've been against that movie, it's director, and stars since it's inception.

I have made a concerted effort to focus purely on the source material, which is the comic. I personally believe to focus too much on other people's interpretation of the source material is going to detract from my performance and my interpretation. It's a wonderful opportunity and there is so much material there. And there is such a wealth of...way he is represented across all the comics. That it's a deep well to choose from.

Daily, I'm learning more. Because as I'm experiencing it, as I'm performing...I'm...As you say, if you were to look at George Reeves, and Christopher Reeves and all that. I'm doing bits myself and therefore learning more about the character. Because hopefully if I do my job right, I'll be remembered and maybe fifteen years in the future someone will be saying Henry Cavill when the next chap is playing Superman.

Most of us have been Superman fans for pretty much all of our lives. Not fair-weather, "I remember Superman" Johnny-Come-Lately's. And we are DEFINITELY not pathetic "fans" of a talentless piece of shit who desecrated a highly cherished previous portrayal. Even as a kid, 'Superman IV' was a let-down. I mean, it has all the ingredients that made 2 & 1/3 of the previous Superman films good. How could it go wrong? But it did. And then, for the next 19 years, we get this "They will!"/"They won't"/"They will again!"/"They won't again" bullshit happening. It got to be pretty depressing to be a fan, and wanting to see your favorite character done "justice" on the big-screen again.

19 years later, and what do we get? Fucking "Singerman Peeps".

I could re-hash all of the reasons why it failed. Why it was an insult. Why it caused such a visceral reaction amongst the core fanbase. But you all already know. The scars that Singerman caused run deep. And I think that's why I haven't been so hard on 'Man Of Steel'. Yet. It's doing IT'S OWN THING.

For that, it gets an open mind from me.

All this pretty much sums up everything I had to endure before & after "Superman Returns" was release... The 19 year on-going development hell, the anouncment of Bryan Singer as director, the synopsis reveal to the public, the release of the first photo of Brandon Routh in the suit till finally the film was release and thus resulted the 19 year wait for Supes to return to the big screen was a big letdown!

It just make you want to ask... How did someone who directed two "X-Men" films screw this film up? Why didn't he reboot the thing from scratch just as the other directors were when offered the job? How was a $200 million film being made to look less expensive than it cost? And what was Bryan Singer really thinking while directing the film? Uuugghh!!!

Since the film's release I as well as other's have to wait another fucking 6 1/2 years for another "Superman" film to be made and to be officially rebooted this time! I guess it's safe to assume that the reason some majority of people still praise it (Aside from being apologists) is that since people waited 19 years aging themselves to death for another "Superman" film to be made they decided to take it for what it is and learn to cope/deal with it dispite it's flaws but I on the other hand decided to face the music & reality that the film was a pure & utterly disappointing like a realist should. Hell, Supes was more better portray on the small screen and on direct to DVD features and yet it seem so hard to pull it off on the big screen! You think a "Superman" film will be easy to do with the use of today's cinematic technology considering how someone like Richard Donner was able to make it happen 33 years ago!

Now with Zack Snyder officially in the director's chair his take on the franchise seems abit more promising but still... HE BETTER NOT FUCK THIS UP!!!

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. -- Some actors might get a little help from the costume department when portraying a hero on the big screen, but British actor Henry Cavill, star of “Immortals” and the upcoming Zack Snyder-directed “Man of Steel,” pushed his body to the max to get a hero-worthy physique.

“We did a lot of training. I was training for six months. I started before I finished ‘The Tudors,’” Henry told Access Hollywood at the junket for his latest movie “Immortals.”

“I was up at four in the morning, doing a couple of hours there and then a day’s work. But as soon as I got off ‘The Tudors,’ then we could do the full training. It went up to about eight hours a day by the time it was February,” he continued.

The 28-year-old actor said he endured “hundreds of bruises and cuts” while shooting the adventure film set in the world of Greek gods.

His “Immortals” wounds appear to have healed and Henry’s physique is a hot topic online as shirtless photos of him on the “Man of Steel” set have cropped up online for the last two weeks.

Despite the sexy shirtless shots, the actor warns that the movie won’t be a super hero flesh-fest.

“That’s only once sequence, a small sequence in the movie. It’s just people like to take a lot of photographs of it when they get the opportunity,” he explained. “It’s an essential thing for something like Superman. You’ve got to prove to everyone that it’s a super man, it’s not all fake, not all smoke and mirrors.”

According to Henry, his caped hero has more abs than the average comic book character.

“It’s an eight pack!” he said of his ripped mid-section.

“Immortals” hits theaters on November 11 and “Man of Steel” is slated for release on June 14, 2013.
