"Daredevil" Leads Marvel & Netflix Multiple Live-Action Show Deal
More at the link.Comic Book Resources wrote:The Walt Disney Co. (NYSE: DIS) and Netflix Inc. (NASDAQ: NFLX) today announced an unprecedented deal for Marvel TV to bring multiple original series of live-action adventures of four of Marvel's most popular characters exclusively to the world's leading Internet TV Network beginning in 2015. This pioneering agreement calls for Marvel to develop four serialized programs leading to a mini-series programming event.
Led by a series focused on "Daredevil," followed by "Jessica Jones," "Iron Fist" and "Luke Cage," the epic will unfold over multiple years of original programming, taking Netflix members deep into the gritty world of heroes and villains of Hell's Kitchen, New York. Netflix has committed to a minimum of four, thirteen episodes series and a culminating Marvel's "The Defenders" mini-series event that reimagines a dream team of self-sacrificing, heroic characters.

First. Daredevil. Then Jessica Jones. Then Iron Fist. And then Luke Cage. And all of that leads to Defenders (I guess they don't want to call it "New Avengers" and I understand).
Excuse me... but exactly what part of this doesn't sound fucking AWESOME!?!?

Re: "Daredevil" Leads Marvel & Netflix Multiple Live-Action Show Deal
I liked The Defenders comic when I was a kid. It's been a long time but I remember a vastly different line-up: Dr. Strange, Hulk, Submariner, etc. Without researching it I want to think Daredevil was a part of it & I know there were others but I'm too lazy right now to google it. Anyway, now that Marvel has the rights to Daredevil back, what does this mean for a film? I don't even use Netflix so what good is this to me?

There are a lot of ways this could play out. Obviously a Defenders miniseries is already on the docket but who's to say the team won't eventually get a film?non_amos wrote:I liked The Defenders comic when I was a kid. As to Netflix, streaming accounts are pretty cheap. Otherwise there's always Bit Torrent. Nobody's said so but I'm thinking it can only be a matter of time until this airs on Disney XD or something. And you already know there will be DVD/Blu-Rays for this stuff. I think you're covered no matter what.
