Your Favorite 'Lois & Clark' Episodes
Most of us remember 'Lois & Clark', I'm sure. Was it the best show on TV? Nah. Was it good for what it set out to be? From season 1-3, I would have to say "Yes". So from those 4 seasons, and from what Dean Cain said recently, there WAS supposed to be a 5th if it wasn't for Hatcher being pregnant, what are some of your favorite episodes?
I know for me, Season 3's episode 14 is one of mine; 'Tempus, Anyone?'.

Basically, Lois is sent to an alternate dimension where Lois died and there was no Superman. So she has to take THAT Clark and turn him into Superman. The montage playing REM's "I Am Superman" was one of the coolest things that show ever did.

The first season is just great. Except for technical stuff like more wires and less green screen for flying shots, there's not much I'd change. Cain and Hatcher played well off each other.
After the first season... well, in My Canon, we go into an alternate universe starting with season 2. It was a stylistic departure from what had come before. The season 2 we have now is not the season 2 we would have gotten if Deborah Joy-Levine had stuck around as the showrunner. That's just how I have to justify it at this point.
But apart from that, the series in general is good. Yeah, you've got clunker episodes (that amnesia shit from season 3, for example) but I enjoy the whole run of the show. It's definitely not for everyone but it was the first concrete example I found where not all of fandom just isn't on the same page with the real fans. There are some people who bash on the show for being a sorta kinda romantic comedy or for not using the Williams theme/not creating a more majestic main title. The same people bitch and complain that it took Clark ten seasons to become Superman and learn how to fly on Smallville.
Basically, they're missing the point of what the show set out to be. I mean, if you can't get onboard with the entire premise of the show, get out. You dig? Remember how I'm always saying not all opinions are equally valid? Lois & Clark proves me right.
Dude, I've got a *HUGE* appreciation for this show. It came along at just the right time in my fandom. (A) I'd kind of started thinking we weren't ever getting any new Superman stuff in live action (twelve year olds are stupid, what can I tell you?) and (B) it gave me a reference point for portrayals of Superman outside of the comics and The Sainted Christopher Reeve.Apologist Puncher wrote:Most of us remember 'Lois & Clark', I'm sure. I don't recall ep titles off hand. But I loved all the tempus ones. He was a great villain. I enjoyed the xmas theme xmy episode, and some of the new krypton arc stuff was good. Also I really liked that episode where mason died, and the one with draining life forces.

I really haven't watched this in years even though I have the 1st 3 seasons on DVD. I guess I need to do something about that if I ever have time. I'm not good with the episode titles either as a result. Nevertheless one that does stand out involved their version of MR. MXYZPTLK. It didn't look anything like the true Mxy from the comics (kinda like SMALLVILLE) but at least I think he was from the 5th dimension? I got a kick out of this episode. I remember Lois & Clark/Superman being stuck in the same day over & over until it became redundant. I remember Superman even telling some guy something like, "I've already saved you today!" And what's ironic here is that SUPERNATURAL used a similar premise on some of it's shows with 'the Trickster'.

Re: Your Favorite 'Lois & Clark' Episodes
Never even answered the thread's original premise.
Favorite episodes. Tough one. But from the first season, Fly Hard, Barbarians At The Planet and The House of Luthor fit together as a nice little trilogy. If you figure each episode is about 40'ish minutes, you've got a two hour movie right there.
Perfect? Nah. For one thing, Lois is barely a character in the latter two episodes. She loves Superman, no she loves Lex, no she loves Clark, no she loves Superman. What the hell?!
But beyond that, what L&C did that I really dug is that Lex had fooled everybody except Clark. I realize the trend, esp lately, is that Lex has his share of detractors, not least of which are the Daily Planet staff. But in L&C, Clark is the only one who sees through his bullshit but is basically powerless to do anything until he has proof. I think it plays really well. Given a choice, I might've wanted Clark (or Superman) to take more of an active hand in Lex's downfall but I don't have a major problem with how things played out.
I maintain that the season 3 two part finale would've played better if the wedding/amnesia shit had never been on the table. You have Lois and Clark engaged and planning a wedding when Superman (and Clark by proxy) is pulled off the Earth. The drama of that would've been enough to make me forgive the abundance of survivors from Krypton and Superman and that other dude playing American Gladiators in the season 4 premiere. But you couple those crap ideas in the context of these episodes all following the worst storyline the series ever embarked upon... well, it could've come together a lot better, put it that way.

Re: Your Favorite 'Lois & Clark' Episodes
Tempus was a great character!!
Seasons 1 and 2 are excellent.
Season 3 has a significant drop in quality, and season 4 was a bit of a disaster.
I like the show though, Cain's Superman is absolutely horrid, but I really like his portrayal of Clark, REALLY like it. Plus John Shea was brilliant as Luthor and Lane Smith is the best Perry White I've seen alongside Jackie Cooper.
I liked 'Foundling' where he has the globe which reveals his father and his origins, Luthor tries to steal it, and we find out Luthor has his own private museum with pieces like the arms of the Venus De Milo
I also liked "All Shook up", the one where Clark has to stop a meteor striking the earth and he ends up losing his memory because of it.
Also liked 'The Phoenix' and 'Top Copy' from Season 2.
