Countdown to "Man of Steel"

Now that it is officially June 14, 2012 which happens to be the same day "Man of Steel" will be out in theaters in about a year from now
Supermanhomepage.com have already set up a countdown banner that will be leading to the big day.

Personally I think this site could use one as well!

Countdown? Im sure they need it because they'll forget about the release date otherwise, LOL! Anyway, I dislike countdowns. They seem to celebrate the passing of time, which I don't find amusing. And of course, Im perfectly aware when MOS comes out I don't need a bloody countdown to remind me!

I too don't see need for countdown. Fans know when its coming. Now all we need is the general audience to know its coming. Which is why we need the big media push and a trailer.

A countdown to an unknown movie in a script/language nobody fucking recognizes with, what, six months to go until opening day when we've gotten two and a half images officially released? If it wasn't for WB pushing this movie back to the summer season and springing for a 3D conversion, I'd be tempted to think the movie will probably suck.

This is pathetic! Say what you will about the disinformation and/or outright lies being told by the STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS production but one thing you can say for them, at least they're getting fans talking about their film. Arguing even but talking/debating nonetheless. THE MAN OF STEEL? And this is what we get?! Cryptic symbols that will just be utter nonsense to the general public? The Man of..........what?!

Never thought they would come up with something like this but it's definitely unique. Now if only we can pin point what numbers that each of these symbols represent!

I don't know, I think it's kinda nifty.

Look, I'm as fed up with WB as the rest of you, but whatever this countdown will release, it would be released anyway. This way, they can get the fans in on the excitement. And that's what this is, for fans. Viral marketing doesn't really have a huge effect on the general public anyway so I think this is OK. If it's the trailer, instead of releasing it just like that, let's excite the fans a bit! Well, mind you, that may very well NOT be why WB is doing it but that's the effect it's having.

Personally, I think it's fun. I hope to see more of such things (and down the line some Daily Planet virals and perhaps military reports and such) in the future.

But this is really the end of the line. The trailer has to bring it and things most flow from then on!

We'll see what happens...

I just finish analyzing each signal over at Dsrwproject.com, it took me awhile for me to figure out how it's done and it was quite simple once you get the idea! Still I wonder if those symbols represent Kryptonian numbers?

Hey! Does anyone know if the MOS trailer that debuted with THE HOBBIT was the exact same trailer we've already seen? Just wondering. I didn't get to see the film but I'd like to know this. I assume it is or duh Internets would be ablaze. And if anyone saw the film what did you think of the STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS 9-minute preview?

I saw it in regular 2-D, so no 'Into Darkness' preview for me.

'The Hobbit' is VERY good though.
