Mark Millar's SUPERIOR
I know some of you guys buy comics pretty regularly, and I was wondering if you heard about Mark Millar's new title "Superior"? In a lot of ways, he is doing his own version of Superman, but with a twist:
A brief synopsis:
And apparently, it ALREADY has Hollywood interest!

Millar:
Superman has waited 30 YEARS for a decent big-budget movie, and this comic is apparently getting one before the FIRST ISSUE was released?
A brief synopsis:
Superior is about a thirteen year old boy with multiple sclerosis who becomes an adult overpowered superhero – all very Captain Marvel, Prime, Mighty Man – he will go up against Abraxis – “Darkseid Meets Brainiac Meets Darth Vader”
And apparently, it ALREADY has Hollywood interest!

Millar:
One director and one producer got in touch just a few hours after this hit the shelves today. I'd sent previews to several friends last month, but these guys only read the book today and called me one after the other when I was shopping in ASDA (our version of Wal-Mart).
But get this: Both guys had casting ideas already and suggested the same dude: Mister Jon Hamm from Mad Men, whom I absolutely love. This is by no means guaranteed casting, but interesting that they both suggested the same guy. Will keep you posted as events happen, but I think this could be an interesting week. Stay tuned.

Re: Mark Millar's SUPERIOR
That's not really anything new for Mark Millar. He's always got Hollywood on the other line. If I'm not much mistaken, the same basic thing happened with Wanted.
It was even faster with Kick-Ass. The movie was developed and shot while the comic book was still coming out.
And something else? His movies make money.
Of course, a lot of Apologists hate on Millar (A) because such is trendy and (B) he had, to them, some pretty controversial ideas for his Superman reboot pitch. While I make no pretense of being an expert on the man's body of work, I've never read anything he wrote where I thought "man, that SUCKED" after I finished. He's got a good head for plot, pacing, characterization, etc. He's a talented writer, in my opinion.
That pic up there of Superior sorta has a few Reeve'isms going behind it. The general concept of this character only reminds me of how badly I want a Captain Marvel/Shazam movie...

Wanted was ok. But Kick Ass was pretty bad ass.
And of course the Apologists hate on Millar. He has no qualms with stating his disapproval for Singerman. Just like that moron LeBron James, they put him on "The List".

I read the comic, *AHEM*online*, and it was ok. An interesting idea, but definitely needs some "fleshing out". Captain Marvel meets Superman is the most accurate description I can give.
