And as for not knowing anything about you... there's a long, long trail of evidence over on the SSS blog. You said those things. You made those choices. If you don't like how people think of you now, as a result... change your behavior.
Once again, you are posting on MY forum.

What gets me is that he states he's not from duh Homopage. However, why then does he sound kinda like 'Armstrong' from the Sucks blog? Armstrong turned out to be Fagley himself! I mean, this guy wants us to believe he's Asian, but what if he ain't? I mean , this is the Internets after all. It could all be a ruse, a 'mask'. The attack on you though reminds me of 'Armstrong' though.
So if I'm right, that would mean that some apologist, Fagley or not, has obviously 'stalked' you ever since the Sucks blog & apparently has a grudge. Gee, it does sound similar, doesn't it?
You're on the right track.
And it's funny how this grade-schooler said I left "evidence" at the SSS blog, but yet I deleted posts that I didn't agree with and blah, blah, blah, right? You misunderstand greatly. Sometimes the evidence of absence is just as powerful as the evidence itself. Let me give you a very good example. Remember this post on the SSS blog? Of course you do. It marked your day of victory. And yet... you seriously erred. You linked to SHH's quote of the Wall Street Journal article, which led you to completely overlook Robinov's comments about turning Superman "dark". Then when someone called you on it, you deleted his post.Apologist Puncher wrote:And it's funny how this grade-schooler said I left "evidence" at the SSS blog, but yet I deleted posts that I didn't agree with and blah, blah, blah, right? That poster called you out. He said that had you done your job and traced the article back to source, you wouldn't have been nearly as jubilant. I know this because... I posted that reply.
You have censored me on at least three other occasions, when I pointed out your failures as a blogger. You can take direct ridicule. It's being professionally embarrassed that you can't take. You are completely incapable of manning the fuck up, owning your mistakes, and apologizing for them. SSS recognized this. That's why he corrected your oversight in the very next blog post.

Re: Superman Earth One Vol. 1, Vol. 2, Vol. 3 (spoilers)
I can't find a link anywhere, but apparently he told Newsarama this:
"No effect at all," JMS told Newsarama asked if the reboot would effect the second volume of Superman: Earth One. "The book is already a re-imagining of sorts, and DC is very happy to leave that alone in its own separate arena. The changes affect the monthly books, not the Earth One line, which operate outside that continuity.
"Oddly enough, the only effect kind of works in the opposite direction, as Superman Earth One was a bit of a proof-of-concept that you could reconsider and remake the characters with a contemporary thrust and it'll work. It did.
"What Dan[DiDio] is doing is correct, massively gutsy and long overdue. More power to him."
Thanks JMS.

Re: Superman Earth One Vol. 1, Vol. 2, Vol. 3 (spoilers)
Heh, y'know, two years ago, the notion of the "Twilight version" of Superman being my last hope for quality Superman stories would've seemed unlikely and offensive on in so many ways.
But, surprise, Earth One is actually pretty good and it looks like the character/franchise itself is dying either from ambivalence from WB/DC or from intentional assassination by the Siegel Parasites and activist judges.
This has "tragedy" written all over it, and nobody but the fans seems to care too much.

Coming back to this for a minute. When Earth One vol. 1 came out, people made fun of it because of... whatever. I dunno.
But now? This looks to be the one "comic" coming out that uses The Suit. A great big part of me finds that incredibly ironic.

Re: Superman Earth One Vol. 1, Vol. 2, Vol. 3 (spoilers)
Watched the Superman Now feature from the All-Star Superman DVD and, among other things, Dan DiDio said that his original goal for the All-Star line was to create more or less an immaculate continuity for Superman and Batman headlined by rock star talent in the biz and then, eventually, bring them together in this new shared universe for a World's Finest kind of team up. Not as a permanent thing but as a special thing. Put another way, he wanted the All-Star line to be sort of an answer to Marvel's Ultimate line. None of this was news to me but, hey, it may be for some you.
However, the stories that Morrison and Miller were telling in their respective titles pretty much ruled out any possibility of them existing in the same universe at the same time. For better or for worse, they both interpreted (misinterpreted?) their mandate as absolute creative license to do whatever the hell they wanted and, in the end, Miller's All-Star Batman would not easily gel with Morrison's Superman. So DiDio pretty much had no choice but to let the two titles exist in continuties separate from one another.
That's a sort of long version of what he said. Tried to dig up a YouTube clip to substantiate all this but, if it's out there, I couldn't find it.
Anyway. Where I'm going with all this is that Earth One seems to be an exact match for everything DiDio said. Immaculate continuity? Check. Rock star names for Superman and Batman? Check. Plans to eventually team them up? So far... yeah. Check.
The obvious difference is that All-Star was ostensibly a monthly thing while Earth One is all original graphic novels. But apart from that, the original intention for All-Star and the fulfilled intention (so far anyway) for Earth One seem to line up precisely with one another.
Of course, it'd be easier to do a better comparison if we had more fucking Earth One books out there but whatever...

DC COMICS IN 2012 – SUPERMAN: EARTH ONE – VOLUME TWO
Thursday, January 5th, 2012
By Josh Kushins
One of the most critically acclaimed original graphic novels of the last few years, SUPERMAN: EARTH ONE will be getting a highly anticipated sequel in 2012. Considered by some to be “Superman for the TWILIGHT crowd,” the original was a standalone story which re-examined the early mythology of the classic character. SUPERMAN: EARTH ONE – VOLUME TWO continues the fresh take on the youthful struggles of Krypton’s superpowered survivor.
Featuring the return of the fan favorite creative team of J. Michael Straczynski and Shane Davis, SUPERMAN: EARTH ONE – VOLUME TWO features an even greater threat.
“The overwhelming success of volume one of SUPERMAN: EARTH ONE – 37 weeks on the New York Times Bestseller list for graphic novels – meant we had to ensure that Volume Two was even better,” said Straczynski. “We couldn’t just rest on our laurels. (And does anyone actually rest on laurels? Are there gatherings of laurel-resters? If so, why haven’t I been invited? These are the questions that keep me up at night while the rest of the world dreams.) Thematically, if Volume One was about Clark figuring out where he belongs, then Volume Two is about Superman trying to figure out where he belongs in all this, even as the world does the same at their end. How far can he push his power before he becomes something other than what he intended to become? In the midst of all this Clark gets his first apartment, becoming entangled with a beautiful woman next door, Lois starts trying to figure out what it is about Clark that doesn’t add up, and a new and terrifyingly strong version of the Parasite is born from what was previously a serial killer…and now Superman has to confront someone who is not only as strong as he is, but can drain his power completely. In the aftermath of one of the massive battles that threatens to tear apart Metropolis, Clark for the first time feels what it’s like to be normal, to be mortal, to be vulnerable…to be us. In the end, Volume Two is about power: its use and abuse, and its place in the world, to be used for good or for evil.”
“Working on VOLUME TWO gave me a chance to re-create one of Superman’s villains, the Parasite,” said Davis. “In doing so, I decided to develop the character in stages as the fights progress throughout the book. There are three stages of evolution: going from frail to the strongest villain Superman has ever faced. EARTH ONE Parasite is one of the most complicated and disgustingly beautiful characters I have ever designed! I came at VOLUME TWO in more of a movie sense, choreographing the fight scenes differently from one another, adding a little more muscle to Superman this time around as he is a practicing superhero, while drawing the “Geek” Clark Kent, who loves a sweater! I always kept the old in mind while bringing in the new. SUPERMAN: EARTH ONE – VOLUME TWO is the book of 2012, so save those pennies!”

I really don't get the Twilight shit or where it's supposed to be coming from. I've never seen those movies but I get the idea they're a bunch of melodramatic teenybopper flicks. Love or hate Earth One, it has more going for it than that. The stuff with Jonathan Kent alone in vol. 1 has more maturity and depth to it than anything I've heard about from Twilight.
EDIT- Either way, good find, webhead.

Maybe it's just a sad reflection on where we are right now with Superman comics but I'm pretty much on board with what JMS is up to with Earth One.Apologist Puncher wrote:http://www.supermanhomepage.com/news.php?readmore=11393
Hmm, an imprint called "Earth One"... a monthly titled called Earth 2 taking place on Earth 2, leading one to assume that the other New 52 books take place on Earth 1... gee, this isn't confusing at all to civilians...

Re: Superman Earth One Vol. 1, Vol. 2, Vol. 3 (spoilers)
Talked to Shane Davis today at a con. While he signed my copy of Earth One vol. 1, I asked him how doing an OGN compares to a monthly comic. Mostly it was to make conversation with the guy because it just felt awkward to go up there, make with my best Chris Farley impression ("Remember when you drew Earth One? Yeah. That was cool.") and walk off.
Can't say as he really answered my question (probably because it was fucking stupid and he wanted to be polite... but I speculate) although he talked about something else I thought you guys might find interesting. He said that vol. 2 at least at one point was set up for release on 10.31.2012. He said though that the date keeps getting flip-flopped because DC was apparently agonizing (no shit, a lot of people up high were sweating bullets) about whether Batman- Earth One vol. 1 or Superman- Earth One vol. 2 should come out first.
He said there's a lot of marketing bullshit that gets tied up in these sorts of decisions. He said that The New 52 had dominated a lot of DC's attention vis a vis the media and whatnot so they had to figure out how best to switch gears and start the process of promoting the Earth One line again because nobody wants the imprint to wither on the vine. Thus ensues a lot of back and forth over a Batman launch ("continue the brand and deliver something new") or a Superman sequel ("give people more of what they're already familiar with").
He never said and I never inferred that the process is basically a clusterfuck. He just said that decisions like these are tough to get sussed out but, and here was his point, his end of Superman- Earth One vol. 2 was completed quite some time ago. He said he'd been finished for at least eight months or something like that.
I bring all this up to say that DC has been pretty good about not hyping New 52 material too far in advance (possibly because everything related to it has been so last minute). Earth One though bears the typical DC standard of being announced a year ahead of time so that, when the thing finally hits the market, I just don't give a shit anymore. How long ago did promo art for Batman- E1V1 and Superman- E1V2 get released? Yeah.
Some things never change, it seems...
