'Expendables 2'

“The Expendables are back and this time it’s personal! After Tool (Mickey Rourke), the heart and soul of the Expendables, is brutally murdered on a mission, his comrades swear to avenge him. As long as they stick to the basic formula, a sequel can only be a good thing as far as I'm concerned.

Production of the EXPENDABLES sequel is now underway, and Arnold Schwarzenegger has Tweeted a snaphsot of himself, Stallone, and Bruce Willis on set in Bulgaria.

The trio join Mickey Rourke, Dolph Lundgren, Jason Statham, Randy Couture, Jet Li, Terry Crews, Scott Adkins, Chuck Norris, and Jean-Claude Van Damme under the direction of Simon West (CON AIR, the recent MECHANIC remake). The film is targeting an August 2012 release date.

Hey folks, Harry here... I'm not allowed to ever get in a vehicle with Chuck Norris. I hear he is fantastic, and I have in fact met him briefly here in Austin once. BUT - I'll never get in a car with him. You see, years ago I got a call from a reader in Australia who, whilst washing the dishes had a disconcerting waking vision of my and Chuck Norris' death. He called to tell me that he doesn't believe in this kind of thing, and that he's never had a VISION before, but that he'd feel awful if I were to die... and CHUCK NORRIS... so... I can't get in a car with Chuck Norris, because apparently a SEMI will run into us and kill us. NOW... because we know Chuck Norris has no known weakness... I figure, so long as I don't get in a car with him... he'll pretty much be around forever - and that's what keeps the Aliens from taking over!

I can't wait to see EXPENDABLES 2. But AB KING is ever-watchful for images from it! SO... here ya go with the BTS shot from a future flick:

'The Expendables 2' Stuntman Dies In Explosion; Another Hospitalized

The updates on 'The Expendables 2' thus far have all been fun: who's being cast, posed set photos and the like. Sadly, today's update is nothing short of tragic. MSNBC reports that a stuntman whose name is being withheld was killed last night on the set in Bulgaria. It appears to be the case of one of the film's explosions gone wrong. Another man was taken to the hospital with severe injuries.

Nu Image/Millennium Films confirmed the incident in a statement to Deadline. It reads:

"It is with great regret that we confirm this unfortunate accident. Our hearts go out to the families and those on the production affected by this tragedy. The filmmakers are working closely with the authorities in responding to and investigating this accident."

With the veil of internet anonymity, it's easy to crack jokes about a man literally dying on the set of an action film, but stay classy. No film is above a human life. At the end of the day, they're just entertainment. Hopefully the person who's in critical condition pulls through.

None of the cast -- which consists of Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and more -- were on location at the time of the accident. They were instead on another set a couple of hours away.

'The Expendables 2' comes from director Simon West, and hits theaters next year on August 17, 2012.
