Of course not.
Hm. The guy's a twat.
Didn't Snyder recently give Smallville a pat on the back for keeping Superman's flame burning for the last decade? That must've been a kick in the guts to the apologists. No doubt they'll be sharpening their knives already.
Oh, there's a thread on that......

He did, and there are whiny little bitches at CrossEyesSkyward.com who are crying about his continuous shots at Singerman.
I hope he keeps it up, right up until the day his movie premieres.

Yeah, the poor things must be gutted after lording it about over anyone who dared to even suggest that a Singerman sequel might not be the best way forward.
Too funny. About time they had reality pounded into their skulls.

Re: Amy Adams Cast As Lois Lane
There was a point when the Apologist line was "it's more logical to do a (Singerman) sequel because that would give us everything a reboot would without going through 'yet another' origin sequence, esp when it comes to action."Father Finian wrote:Yeah, the poor things must be gutted after lording it about over anyone who dared to even suggest that a Singerman sequel might not be the best way forward.

Of course, the problem there is (A) Singer's abilities to compose action scenes is still in question, particularly after Singerman and (B) the object of the reboot was NEVER completely about just getting more action. It was about eliminating the myriad scabs, flaws, weaknesses, flat out idiotic ideas, continuity fuck-ups and everything else inherent to Singerman or, I would argue, any continuation of the Donnerverse. There's just no way to make it work. "Fixing" the Singerman "franchise" would've basically resulted in a reboot anyway so why not reboot in name as well as fact and just get it over with?
Talk about pounding your head against a brick wall trying to get that across though.
The other thing though is that they also argued that now that Singer had "reintroduced the characters", he was free to advance the narrative. Of course, the problem there is that Singer didn't reintroduce the characters. Putting aside the movie's many and varied stupidities, nothing about Singerman provides any sort of entry point into BJ Routh or anybody else in the cast. If you've not seen STM and S2, you're pretty much lost when it comes to understanding anything in terms of Singerman's narrative.
Of course, going back to the continuity problems, you're probably lost anyway but you get the point, I think.

LOL, yeah.
Singerman 2 was doomed. It would've been like trying to fix a hole in a water balloon.
Actually, check out the comments on AICN re the Superman Movie Blu-ray boxset. Seems most are happy to see the back of Singer and his merry men.

I just have to say- we're going from a lois with no ass to this:
I'd say we traded up. That and the whole "she's a great actress" bit.

i do somewhat wish she dyed her hair dark brown or black for lois, but overall dont mind her staying redhead for the role.

Re: Amy Adams Cast As Lois Lane
Lois Lane's hair color has been screwy for years. Up through 1986, it was black.
Starting in the Byrne Age, it was sometimes brown. Other times it bordered on red.
When Geoff Johns started his hard-on for all things Donner, Lois at times had black hair again.
In live action... hell, Noel Neill was a redhead. Erica Durance... I have no idea what color her hair was in season 4.
Guess what I'm saying here is that Amy's hair is just a snowflake in a blizzard.

This picture alone tells me that Adams is going to be fine as Lois Lane:

Whatever dude, you're biased. You're only saying that because she's good looking, talented and has a demonstrable history of success in the roles she chooses.Apologist Puncher wrote:This picture alone tells me that Adams is going to be fine as Lois Lane:

Re: Amy Adams Cast As Lois Lane
Well it is true that in the comics Lois Lane's hair color has gone back and forth between being a raven and a brunette and it's pretty clear that they decided to go with a brunette version of Lois.

Re: Amy Adams Cast As Lois Lane
Totally lois hair color isn't really that key to the character. Plus it being a variety of things in comics shows we have different looks to go by. Heck even the first lois I believe was a read head for the kirk alyn/reeves stuff, and erica when first on sv was a blonde. So it for me is more that amy is a good actress and that she will play the role well. Sure like I said in the other page I was hoping she dye her hair to be darker. But it wasn't wrong she didn't.

Re: Amy Adams Cast As Lois Lane
Amy is hot & all of that but the red hair makes me think of LANA LANG, at least traditionally. However, on Smallville we had a Lana who not only had very dark hair but also played by an actress who is part-Asian. I know we all came to despise Lana in later seasons but I believe at least in the 1st 3 seasons it worked. I think I'd give Amy Adams a better chance than Kristen Kreuk in this case.
Ya know, I look somewhere like Facebook & people are pointing out pictures from the George Reeves TV series where Lois had red hair & such & sometimes with a pic of Amy for a comparison. However, I know Lois is traditionally pictured as a brunette but Perry White is also pictured as being, well, white, so it'd be interesting to know what's inside Snyder's head concerning these things.

Re: Amy Adams Cast As Lois Lane
Utterly off topic but I wasn't really big on Lana until season 7 (not before and not after). Didn't seem like the writers knew what to do with her character the rest of the time.non_amos wrote:Amy is hot & all of that but the red hair makes me think of LANA LANG, at least traditionally. I mentioned that in an earlier post. Assuming that a redheaded Lois is an issue for some folks, citing Noel Neill is sort of a flimsy justification because she was only hired for the George Reeves show because of her existing cred from the Kirk Alyn serials... both of which were black and white. When the series went into color, I suspect it was news for most people to realize that she's a redhead.Ya know, I look somewhere like Facebook & people are pointing out pictures from the George Reeves TV series where Lois had red hair & such & sometimes with a pic of Amy for a comparison. Like I said, flimsy justification. What's not so flimsy is Amy Adams history and talent. In my opinion, she's the weakest link in the cast and that only because she has red hair. Compare that to a certain other nameless adaptation, where the entire cast is screwed up from beginning to end, and I'll take a redheaded Lois for $5,000, Alex.
