Return of letter columns

The letter columns are coming back to, among other DC Comics, the Superman line. They were taken out years ago (A) for made ad revenue and (B) fans have the Internet and message boards and stuff now.
But they're coming back. However, apparently DC requires a valid name, address and phone number. Does this seem like a spam scam to anybody else or is it just me?

Probably so, look at marvel letter pages, they have letters sent in and emails from there fans.
