New Batmobile for "TDKR"?
I wonder that since the Batmobile/The Tumbler was destroyed in "The Dark Knight" I figured that Christopher Nolan and Co. may just might introduced a new Batmobile in the third Batman installment "The Dark Knight Rises" just in the same fashion as Batman was given a new suit that we were able to see in the middle of TDK!
And here's an example of what the Batmobile should slightly look like and for the record, this was taken from Comicbookmovie.com which is part of a list of un-released concept art from the game "Batman: Arkham Asylum"...
Something abit sleakish that can move in top speed but powerful enough to knock/ram anything off course within it's path!

RE: New Batmobile for "TDKR'"
I think a NEW Batmobile would be in order. I think one of the complaints about Nolan's version is that Batman was 'driving a TANK'! But thanks be to Nolan for his ULTRA-REALISTIC interpretation. THAT way, 'suspension of disbelief' is not required. Truth be told, the Batmobile should LOOK like the Batmobile! People can criticize Burton all they want but the Batmobile LOOKED better in THAT film & he had the BATPLANE to boot! THAT'S what I'm talking about!

Are you being sarcastic? Or is your theory that a movie about a wealthy dude running around in a rubber costume dodging bullets and using "sonar technology applied to cell phones" to find his arch-nemesis doesn't require suspension of disbelief?non_amos wrote:I think a NEW Batmobile would be in order. Personally, I liked the "Tumbler/Batmobile". It separated THIS Batman from all of the others, and I dug the "power" it implied.
No need to go backwards towards the Burton-era Batmobile like the picture above. Come up with something UNIQUE.

Nice looking car, but I wouldn't count on something so small and "sleek" in Rises. With the car chase from Batman Begins, where the cops were after him, I think Nolan is going to go for something similar again.
Fox DID tell Wayne that they made TWO Tumblers, after all....

I agree, when I first got a look at the Tumbler I was abit skipitcal hell I didn't even know which is front or back till I finally figured it out then later when I saw it in action I was like "WOW!!! The other batmobiles couldn't do what this one did!" it had the power to be fast, agile, stealthy and being able to knock over & trample other cars just by driving into them, and thats what I like about it! Maybe in TDKR they'll come up with something similar to it but slightly smaller & sleaker this time!

The picture of that automobile is not bad looking I think they could use it's design for possible inspirations!

Well according to a report and some photos from Superherohype.com it seems that we're getting the same old Tumbler back and not a comeplete new batmobile!
Still I wonder how they would bring back the Tumbler if it were originally destoryed and the fact that Lucius Fox resigned from "Wayne Enterprises"?

Re: New Batmobile for "TDKR"?
I'm of two minds about this. On the one hand, it's seeing the same thing for a third time, which makes for nothing new or fresh. But on the other hand, I'm sick of superhero sequels having a bunch of new shit in them exclusively for the video game and toy companies to have something to play with. Iron Man 2 had redesigned armor, and not because the narrative totally required it (except maybe for the Monaco racing sequence) but to give the action figure company something new to design and sell. That's it, that's the only reason.Comicbookfan-V2 wrote:Well according to a report and some photos from Superherohype.com it seems that we're getting the same old Tumbler back and not a comeplete new batmobile!
Hmm, but on the other hand, I've never been crazy about the Tumbler to begin with. Never liked the design of it.
Didn't someone earlier in this thread say that Fox told Bruce that two Tumblers exist? It's been ages since I've seen BB so I don't remember that exchange but I'll take someone else's word for it.Still I wonder how they would bring back the Tumbler if it were originally destoryed and the fact that Lucius Fox resigned from "Wayne Enterprises"?

Re: New Batmobile for "TDKR"?
Kinda sucks if we don't get a new batmobile. Was hoping for it. But maybe he could still have one and this is only used for a short time at start of film or something.

Doesn't suck at all. I think The Tumbler is just fine, and stays as far away from the "Burton Era" Batmobile designs as possible.
That's ONE plus for the 3rd film.....

Yes, he said something to the effect of "Two of these would act as a bridging vehicle. We were never able to get the damn bridge to work, but THESE BABIES work just fine".
