We Were Right About That Piece Of Shit All Along...

Even I'd find this kind of hard to believe if the hot tub rumors hadn't been making the rounds for years.

It's funny-weird how I've not seen much of this stuff outside Superman Watchdog. If this was a Catholic priest or even a school teacher, would anybody care to argue this wouldn't have become a Facebook meme by now?

My Facebook has been remarkably silent about this whole molestation thing. I thought that was kind of odd but figured other stuff is probably occupying peoples' attention right now but we'd probably start seeing people comment on it as the release date neared.

Nothing.

So I mentioned it in a comment I made on some guy's post... and got completely shouted down. "Don't judge the movie by these spurious allegations" and whatnot. One twat even wrote "even IF it's true, it shouldn't affect anybody's enjoyment of the film".

People, the bratty attitude Chris Evans has about acting had impact on my enjoyment of The Winter Soldier. So just how the fuck am I supposed to forget that Bryan Singer molested people? I mean, is that where we are now in society? We can totally forget what a scumbag someone is if they can make pretty pictures?

Seriously, what the fuck?

I haven't seen the new X-Men film yet but I've been reading online & it sounds like Singer's version of QUICKSILVER is stealing the show! I just wonder where this will leave Whedon's version in the Avengers 2? And over at SHH it's like you barely even read any of the allegations. They're too busy with their circle jerk to even notice.   

No kidding. Here's the thing that pisses me off. This same crap sunk Michael Jackson's career. And well it should've too! So just why the hell is Bryan Singer getting a free pass on this?

I guess it's like the old Sucks blog: Singerman, giving head & packing fudge. And man! He must be good at it LOL!   

But there's an obvious double-standard there & I think more people know who Michael Jackson was than will ever know who Bryan Singerman is. So what makes him so special?

Precisely my point. Wacko Jacko was all but burned in effigy. It's fucking sick how Singer hasn't even gotten a slap on the wrist from fans.

Michael Jackson was a household name, so of course him being accused of child molestation was going to be a much bigger deal, whereas Bryan Singer is not close to a household name. He's known by fans of film and comic books, but that's it.

I think a much more fitting comparison is Roman Polanski, who raped a 13 year old girl and even fled the country to avoid jail time, which should tell you enough about his guilt. This fucker is a fugitive living in countries that have no extradition. However, his career never ended right then and there. He went on to continue making movies with high profile actors and winning an Oscar. If Polanski's career couldn't crash, no director's ever could. On a different note, M. Night Shyamalan hasn't had a hit in over a decade but he still gets work to this day.

That's why it's called Hollyweird.

Not to derail the subject but speaking of M. Night I loved his early films, The Sixth Sense & Unbreakable especially. I thought both films were brilliant. Signs I liked OK & it was also pretty popular from what I remember but after that it's like he started his downward spiral. Not really sure what happened there. Some celebrities, whether we're talking about rock stars who come back with a vengeance or actors/directors like Ben Affleck, somehow these people find a way to salvage their careers. M. Night hasn't seemed able to do likewise & I just don't understand why. He seemed like a good storyteller in the beginning. What happened?!
