Johnny Depp and Alice Cooper jammed together on stage in England, playing cooper hits "I'm Eighteen" and "School's Out" together, reports the official site for Cooper.

What brought these two together, besides their Freddy's Dead past? Perhaps Dark Shadows.

Says Cooper's site: "Johnny is in London working on the new Tim Burton movie Dark Shadows, and Alice is rumored to have a cameo part in the film as well..."

Cooper and Dark Shadows is a great fit. Who would he play? Werewolf? Vampire? Just a maniac?

Alice is the man! And it was also the band! And good thing that the 'Rock and Roll Hall of Fame' (or is that SHAME as Eddie Trunk says?) finally inducted him! Should've been done years ago!

As for Dark Shadows itself, I'm a BIG FAN of the original TV series but unfortunately it was ending when I was about 7 years old! I caught the 'tail-end' of it. Good thing I've got eBay now huh? Anyway, the original, campy though it may have been sometimes, it was still a great 'soap opera' if you wanna call it that & Jonathan Frid was the man as BARNABAS COLLINS, the 'reluctant vampire'! There was a remake mini-series back in the 90's which was OK but I just didn't like it as well. Whether or not Johnny Depp can bring anything to the role remains to be seen but it is directed by Tim Burton so we know it'll have its' 'gothic look' at least. And the original had nothing to do with 'Twilight' either!

Nice find. Sounds cool. My mom is a big dark shadows fan and can't wait for the film. I recall seeing reruns of it from time to time as a kid. So I am not that big of a fan of it. But will check out the film.

I know back in the 90's it came on as reruns on the Sci-Fi channel. I've not seen it listed currently on their renamed 'Sy-Fy' channel. I'm actually buying the DVD sets & nearly have all of them!

Ya I haven't seen it on syfy lately, I do recall last yr I think chiller network was doing a marathon or something. I am sure come closer to film release certain networks like syfy will do day marathons.

On other forums that have nothing to do with comics but say, horror and/or Alice himself, fans are debating what character Alice will play. Will he have a major role or just a cameo? Will he be some servant of Angelique? I don't know about all of that but on my way home from work while ago I had a DOOSIE of a casting choice for Alice:

For those who don't know, on the original TV series, this was the 'witch hunter' back in the 1700's who was more of a 'cult leader' than a real preacher. However, it was in the past, but since the show frequently did 'time-travel' into the past, it's not unreasonable to assume that they may do this in the new film. One of the main characters, Victoria Winters, was accused by Trask while she was in the past of being a witch. However, Angelique was the real witch. And this storyline was closely connected to the present day as well.

If they were to go that route, then the Rev. Trask would be perfect for Alice! And it would be a major role, not a cameo. I don't know if Depp & Burton have thought of it yet but I may just have to suggest that at some other site, maybe even Alice's site, & see what they think?!
