Tim Daly Dissing 'Man Of Steel'?

Yikes. This guy bitter or what?
But what he said about the people making the films should be pointed SQUARELY at the Bros. Warner. Because it's true.
"Actor Tim Daly, who provided the voice for the Man of Steel on "Superman: The Animated Series", recently spoke with E! Online about Zack Snyder's upcoming reboot, "Man of Steel" and stated that he doesn't exactly have high hopes for the film.
"All these superhero movies seem exactly the same to me," said Daly. "I keep wanting to be surprised, but I'm not. It seems like [people] who went to college to learn to read pie charts are making these movies."
Daly joked that he would like to see a throwback to the 1950s TV series "The Adventures of Superman" starring George Reeves. "I would be happy if they had some guy standing around in tights and wearing a girdle... that would be fun."

Eh, there are certain tropes that go along with most superheroes. I got the idea he was responding more to that than anything. But maybe you're right.

It's just a weird, almost "old man grumbling" quality to what he was saying. Especially since he was asked specifically about Superman, a character that has made him a shot-load of money.

No doubt. He's probably more well known for that (at least among fanboys) than as Joe on Wings.
Always blew my mind when people said he should be a live action Superman. Good actor and all but wtf were they smoking?

Hey! Maybe he could team with Kevin Conroy in a 'World's Stupidest' film??

And it's such negative talk as that that will 'burn up duh Internets' with more negativity towards the reboot.
Duh Internets. Ya gotta love it!

Re: Tim Daly Dissing 'Man Of Steel'?
Y'know, fuck it, originally I wasn't going to say this but here goes.
Tim Daly as Superman's voice? Don't see the hype.
I mean, yeah, he did okay for himself in the role. Sometimes. But just as often, the guy sounded like he had no connection to the material. It wasn't something I could put my finger on but I just got the impression every now and then that he wasn't really invested in what he was saying somehow.
Well, hey, come to find out that his schedule was so nutty when he was doing STAS that he apparently frequently recorded his lines totally cold, without even so much as a glance at the script before hand (because he hadn't had a chance to read it).
Now, you go back to George Newbern, who had a sort of Daly'ish voice but with that extra smidgen of authority and, oh yeah, time in the day to read a 20'ish page fucking script and you realize that Newbern is clearly the alpha male in the room when it comes to modern day Superman voices (although I'd argue that Bud Colyer is the king overall).
Daly was good (sometimes) as Superman's voice but the dude doesn't deserve half the hype he gets.

Daly was decent, but too blase sometimes.
