Let’s get one thing clear before we dive in: Ben Affleck has not dropped out of Batman vs. Superman as of this writing. But the situation is taking a turn that suggests Affleck might not be moving into the batcave anytime soon.
If you’re keeping track of the flurry of rumors regarding this production you’ll know that it’s been a bumpy ride from the outset. Coming off the heels of a delay to 2016 we’re now hearing whispers from an inside source that a lengthening shooting schedule as well as reported clashes with scriptwriter David Goyer are leading to a potential parting of ways between the actor/filmmaker and the project. At the forefront of Affleck’s issues is a script that’s miles away from where he feels it needs to be. This is further compounded with the actor/filmmaker’s concerns that the BvS shoot will conflict with his plans to direct the adaptation of Dennis Lehane’s Live By Night in the fall. Between the power Goyer has been wielding over both this film and Justice League (of which he’s contracted to write both) and an ever-increasing amount of conflicting studio notes, it’s all getting to be a bit much for the man who would be Batman; so much so that our source says Affleck is telling WB to get their house in order ASAP or find another Caped Crusader.
batman_vs_supermanWhat’s interesting is that Warner Brothers so wants to continue in the Ben Affleck business that they’ve reportedly expressed a willingness to let the man bow out gracefully and without damaging their non-DC projects currently in-house (including but not limited to geo-political thriller King of Heists). The ball is totally in Affleck’s court should he decide to stay or go.
Not that the Argo director needs my advice, but I’ll offer it up anyway: Walk. Leave this troubled Batman vs. Superman in the dust and continue a career resurgence that doesn’t need the sort of fervor and tentpole expectations inherent with the Batman franchise. Affleck’s inclusion here never fit in the sense that dude can pretty much write his ticket in Hollywood right now. He doesn’t need Batman, and I’m not even convinced a name actor is best-suited for a reboot of this magnitude.
Don’t be surprised if Warner scraps entirely and fasttracks a sequel to Man of Steel, one more focused on telling a self-contained Superman story that hints at a more expanded universe down the line. That last part is merely speculation, but major shakeups are already occurring in the form of the studio allegedly gutting the project’s pre-viz team over the weekend. Could a greater overhaul, one that sees an increasingly crowded* Batman vs. Superman scrapped for a more subtle and longterm approach, be far behind?
*This source also names Jason Momoa as the frontrunner for Aquaman, compelled to action by the effects the world engine had on his ocean kingdom in MoS.
Ben get the hell out while you can!!

You and your anti-team up buddies would just LOVE this, wouldn't you? "Go get 'em, guys, we can kill another DC team-up if WE team up!"Rduce wrote:Ben get the hell out while you can!!

I know this will really fuck over your day, but I am really looking forward to this movie. Of course since I have a differing opinion as to what I personally like, in your eyes I am a moron, idiot, assbag, or a Singerman Fan, which is WRONG! Your elitist mentality will not be swayed even though you could search every post I made here and see my disdain for SR has been since the opening midnight showing. I could also supply you with a rather long review I posted online, but again that still would not sway you, because in your eyes ONLY those that agree with you and the other's that feel that MOS is a masterpiece of EPIC proportions would I be allowed in to your club.
MOS is a much better film than SR, it has flaws, but it had potential in taking the franchise in a better direction than Singer could ever have.

Re: NOT VERY GOOD NEWS (i.e. I'M AN IDIOT & A COWARD)
Nice try but the issue isn't Singerman. It's a team-up film. Singerman isn't even yesterday's news anymore. It's history. Ancient history. Fact is that a lot of "fans" have fuckall positive or encouraging to say about DC characters teaming up. You and your buddies have killed every major attempt WB has ever made to do a team-up movie but it looks like it won't work this time.Rduce wrote:thecolorsblend wrote:You and your anti-team up buddies would just LOVE this, wouldn't you? And I'm glad for that.

Principal Production On MAN OF STEEL 2 Begins
Latino-Review reports,Okay, fanboy nation, Henry Cavill is in Michigan. Since arriving, he’s been hanging out where common folks are known to dwell. That would be local restaurants, pubs, and the like. But that’s not all. He’s been remarkably loose-lipped about his activities, and a couple of his chance encounters with the local peasants may have revealed some juicy news from up high on DC Entertainment Mountain. As you know, DC and WB have been pretty tight-lipped. Or maybe they’ve been downright confusing (“We’re delaying production to fine-tune!” “NO, WE’RE NOT! THERE ARE NO DELAYS!“). But maybe, just maybe, it’s Cavill himself who will spill the beans we’ve been clamoring for.
Oops.
Moron.

If only Father Finian would bury the hatchet & come back. Or maybe Webhead2006 will come back from the dead? In spite of their 'whatever' I at least think they were fans. It'd sure beat the rantings of the likes of 'Rduce'.

Ben Affleck And Jennifer Garner Are Moving To Detroit This Summer
The Huffington Post | by Ashley Woods

When Ben Affleck becomes the next Hollywood actor to don the black latex suit as Batman, he'll be heading to America's own version of Gotham City -- Detroit! -- to play the role.
Jennifer Garner told local sports station 105.1FM last week that she was getting ready to pack up her entire family -- her children Violet, Seraphina and Samuel -- to move from Los Angeles to the Motor City while Affleck films his role.
"I'll be there this summer, all summer," Garner said, according to MLive. "My husband Ben is filming ... 'Batman' is shooting ... or whatever it's called. I don't know what it's called. 'Superman With Batman,' or whatever it is. But he is shooting this summer, so we'll be there."
Henry Cavill, who will play Superman in the still-untitled sequel to "Man Of Steel," was spotted by fans at a bar in Detroit's neighboring suburb of Ferndale.
Director Zack Snyder has also been seen scouting locations for the film in East Lansing, Mich., home to Michigan State University. The "Batman vs. Superman" film isn't expected to begin shooting in the Motor City until this spring. Many details are still unknown, but the sequel to "Man of Steel" will hit theaters in May 2016. It's reportedly the largest movie production to ever be shot in Detroit.
In the meantime, fellow celebs Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams could give the Bennifers a few tips on living well in the Motor City. Gosling was often spotted at Cafe D'Mongo's downtown while he filmed "How to Catch a Monster" last year.
Williams spent six months in Metro Detroit while she filmed "Oz: The Great and Powerful." Her daughter with Heath Ledger, Matilda Rose, attended school in the area. "I really loved Detroit ... [Matilda] was so happy [in Detroit]," Williams told WJBK last year. "And if your kid is happy, you're happy."
