So it comes out this fri, anyone planning to check it out. Previews for it seems to be pretty cool looking. Plus its another look at snyder/his directing style and all that. To prepare us for him on superman.

I'd like to see it but I doubt I will at the theater. Due to this economy & my own financial situation, I haven't been to the theater since IRON MAN 2! And now there's a slew of films about to come out that I want to see. I just hope I can! Working night-shift doesn't exactly help matters either.

There are Apologists "hoping" Sucker Punch flops so BS and Bj can "Return".

Quote:
“It’s been really great,” Snyder said of the collaboration so far. “Chris is awesome. He’s super-respectful but super-helpful, too. You can’t imagine a more generous [collaborator]…once he sort of got what I want to do with it, he was like, ‘OK,’ and once he said, ‘You know what, that’s awesome,’ now he’s 100%. If I say, ‘What do you think of this?’ he’s like, ‘That’s awesome,’ and then there’s a great give-and-take about it, a great conversation that we can have about it and making it better everyday. And by the way he’s hilarious, too.”

Snyder isn't giving me any more faith in the film with these comments.... but Aronofsky dropping out at the very last second of Wolverine (which is a drag) gives me faith that the same could happen to Snyder and be replaced with Singer and Routh.

Or Aronofsky. He wanted Superman, didn't he?

Somebody put this sad little asshole out of his delusional misery.

Please.

As for the film, I will probably see it on the big-screen. I have a nice little $6 movie theater near me, and i just saw Battle: LA the other day. Fun little "alien invasion" movie.

'Sucker Punch' looks like a lot of fun, and with an $85 million dollar budget, a flop isn't in the cards. It AIN'T 'Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World', with it's creepy 22 yr old guy dating a 17 yr old chick with stupid ass cartoon "fights" and BJ Routh. That guy is box-office poison on a GRAND scale.....

Fuck me, the hardliners are STILL out there??? Most Apologists gave up hope long ago and are resigned to shit-talking the Snyder Superman any chance they get. It's the true believers who STILL think there's hope, I guess. You'd think there comes a point when reality just HAS to set in sooner or later but I guess not. Mind you, these are probably the same folks who, when it became apparent that Singerman wasn't coming back, advocated that Tom Welling be fired off Smallville and replaced with BJ, with SV's continuity being ret-conned to accommodate the Singerman continuity. Seriously. Some fucktards actually called for that.

But then we Realists all knew a reboot was coming. Oh sure, some of our number were predicting (in early 2007) that the Singerman "franchise" would die after the SECOND film but that's about as far wrong as most of us ever got. Anybody else remember those predictions? I swear to think someone had a sig on the Singerman Sucks blog that went something like "the trilogy ends in 2009" (ie, when Madame of Pleather was alleged to "come out").

Those are the types of "mistakes" the Realists made. We just thought it would take longer for WB to realize what we knew all along. That can be chalked up to cynicism more than anything.

The Apologists? Cripes, the question isn't "what have they been wrong about". More like "what the fuck have they been RIGHT about?!" And that's a pretty small list. The fact that some fuckwit Apologists still think Singer and Blandon might be coming back... I'm genuinely shocked. But I guess I shouldn't be at this point, the nitwits. And how happy I'll be at their tears and gnashing of teeth when Snyder and co. go into proper production.

Oh yes, there is a sad little group of "die-hard" Apologists there that suck the proverbial cock of Singerman, and BJ by extension. They are comically visceral in their "hate" for Snyder and the reboot, but are starting to admit that they WANT to see his reboot. You can tell that they KNOW how retarded they will look if they "flipped the script", so they try to find little turd-nuggets to bitch about, and the above moronic pining for Snyder to be "fired".

Reality is NOT an Apologists friend.

To me, the movie is basically a fun time with lots of battles and explosions and cool music. I enjoyed it on that level because not everything has to be fucking Citizen Kane. But this guy obviously saw a lot more in Sucker Punch than I ever did.

I didn't find it to be all that engaging storywise, but despite that, Snyder still impressed me in certain parts such as the opening sequence. Minimal dialogue, all visuals, and well executed at that. I think cinema needs a lot more of that old school visual storytelling and it's one of things I look forward to most in MOS.
