New Animated Series AVENGERS ASSEMBLE Will Have The "Tone & Feel" Of The Movie

Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes may have gotten the ax, but we can look forward to a brand new show, which according to Jeph Loeb will be based more on Joss Whedon's The Avengers movie.. Mark "RorMachine" Cassidy - 6/12/2012

In an interview with TV Guide Magazine, Marvel's executive vice president and head of television Jeph Loeb discusses plans for some future Marvel animated series. Coming our way in 2013 are Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. and a new show which is said to be closer in tone to the recent Avengers movie, Avengers Assemble.

Says Loeb..

The Avengers movie has been the ambassador to the world for the Marvel Universe so we want a show that has the feel and the tone and the incredible adventures like that movie. So the next project that we're working on — and this is down in our lab, top secret, with the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents protecting us at all costs — is Avengers Assemble, which will be a brand new and really extraordinary looking animated series dealing with the Avengers in that same world.

We're still very early on in the process and we don't give away too much. It's safe to say that we're looking at a show that more closely echoes the tone and the feel of the movie.

Loeb also reveals that Falcon will be a large part of the show, and act as the "eyes of the viewer", being the newest member of the team. Apparently he is to be a bit younger than the others. As for what style of animation we can expect, Loeb says he wants the show to take things to the "next level" - "In the same kind of way that Ultimate Spider-Man pushed the boundaries in terms of a unique combination of 2D and CG and using top-flight writers and voice actors, that's what we're looking for". Well, I'm sure this will be met with a mixture of "oh cool" and "What the Hell was wrong with EMH?" But at least we can look forward to this replacement, and by the sounds of it there is a chance it may even be in canon with the movie. Click the link below to check out the full interview.

How Earth’s Mightiest Avengers Transitions Into Avengers Assemble

Jeph Loeb has been talking about Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroesand the new Avengers Assembleshow at Cup O Joe at San DIego Comic Con.

He talks about what happened when Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, expanding from 22 to 52 episodes a month.

But fifty-two episodes is an enormous committment.

They have decided to transition the series into Avengers Assemble, which better reflects the cast in the movie. But it will be a continuation of the old series, and will not stamp on the continuity, perform a reboot or give a new continuity. It will just grow…

Continues the old version? Not that I watched it but, still, GOOD. Marvel needs to strengthen their TV/animation presence.

Ya if this is true sounds like what jl did when it became jlu. Which will be nice. But if they are just going to have movie roster be main team. I hope they have good reasons for why wasp, antman & yellowjacket, black panther, and ms marvel are not on team. Unless they spilt team and get appears here and there of them too. Now I hope voice cast returns and they get majority of emh crew back too.

SDCC: Test footage of Avengers Assemble description and more details about the show

At the Marvel Television panel, Jeph Loeb talked about how Avengers Assemble is the spritiual continuation of avengers EMH, and how the show is aimed at a broader audience than before (again confirming AgentX report).

Loeb then went ahead and showed a test footage of the show (again like agentx reported) and below is a description of the clip from Marvel’s Strommy:

” We’re watching the animation test for Marvel’s Avengers Assemble now! This is the first time anyone outside of Marvel has seen this! A giant dragon thing is tearing apart Manhattan, and Iron Man’s flying a Quinjet with the Avengers in it! Hulk just pushed Thor aside and told him “you’ll be lucky if there’s anything left to smash”, then jumped out before him Hawkeye and Cap are flying in on mini jets! Iron Man launches a barrage of missiles at the monster, knocking him down–but he’s still getting back up for Round Two! “

No news regarding the release date of the series has been revealed.

Comicbookressources wrote the below description of what went down on this portion of the panel:

“Now let’s talk about the elephant in the room,” Loeb said. “I know a lot of you are big fans of ‘Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.’” Alluding to internet rumors—”a lot of things on the internet are not true”—Loeb said “Earth’s Mightiest Heroes” was always going to be 52 episodes, an animation industry standard order. “When that show concluded itself, we had an issue on our hands, what to do next.” Loeb compared the transition to what’s seen with a new creative team in comics.

He formally announced the long rumored “Marvel’s Avengers Assemble,” which continues the previous continuity, and showed a brief animation test. Fin Fang Foom is ravaging New York, and Iron Man and Thor are first on the scene, followed in short order by the Hulk. Captain America and Hawkeye join the fight, completing the team.

In the case of both clips, Loeb cautioned that the footage and voices were not final, and the completed animation would be “even snazzier.”

Whether Avengers Assemble is really a sequel to Avengers EMH remains to be seen. But we will make sure to ask AgentX on how true this bit of info is. Keep checking us back for more info regarding Agengers Assemble.
