Christian Bale Doesn't Rule Out a Fourth Batman

This entire time we've all been lead to believe that the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises would be the final entry in Chris Nolan's Batman series, and with good cause because that's what he said.

But recently in an interview with Empire magazine, Christian Bale isn't ruling out a fourth entry to the series.

Warning: Potential spoilers for The Dark Knight Rises.

"My understanding is that this is the last one. I think it's appropriate, I think it's going out at the right time. But...if Chris came to me with a script and said, 'You know what? There is another story' then I would love the challenge of making a fourth one work," he said.

Is Bale legitimate in his quote? Or is it, as some fans have said, simply said to be misleading due to many rumors that Batman won't make it through the end of the film. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters on July 20th.

Uhhhhh..........Duhhhhh..........

What kind of mind games is Bale playing here?! Does he really think Nolan will be back for a 4th installment?! As for if there's another story, there's always another story for Batman. Even better if Nolan's not writing or directing it.

ROBIN: Holy impersonators, Batman!

BATMAN: Yes, Robin, but to get to the root of the problem, let me get out my Bat Anti-Nolan Repellant!

lol!

I'd guess that after the success of THE AVENGERS & the questionable profit of TDKR that Bale is looking for a continual paycheck. Hey Bale, I'm sure Nolan can use you in his next flick! It's not like he's never done that before, now is it? Wink

I have liked bale to a degree in the nolan films. Wouldn't mind seeing him again. But with everything we heard on tdkr with how it ends. Nolan end for batman seems to be how his story would go. So I don't see what bale would do as batman again post the film. Though bale was more likely just playing the author of the article that he would return per brothers warners telling him to do s, that they don't possibly loose bbale/nolan fans for the film lol.

Also great jokes and images above guys. They where totally funny.

No idea how I missed this but... eh. I wouldn't put too much thought into it. Nolan says he's done after this and I tend to believe him. Sounds like Bale's participation is contingent upon Nolan here so if Nolan goes, so does Bale. Which is fine by me. Time for something new anyway. I'm ready for this to be over.

It makes you wish that Michael Keaton could come back but he's too old now, that is, unless that did a literal adaptation of Frank Miller's THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS. I know they're gonna do an animated version but I mean a live-action. Which I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for. Even if there's a reboot eventually, I doubt it'd take this route but would probably just start over. But it does make you homesick for those days, that's for certain!

Nah, if they did a live-action 'The Dark Knight Returns', there is one man who would be perfect for the role:

Kurt Russell.

Some time in the gym with the Gym Jones guys, or a really good trainer, and he'd be all set.
