Ursa was never on Smallville, it was Faora. You would think they would research that fact??!!

Ya lol, but could have just been an error on author part, or they like u said didn't do research lol. But as for this actress I never heard of her before. So I don't have herthing negative or positive to say about her.

EXCLUSIVE: German actress Antje Traue has been cast as Superman villainess Faora in Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures' "Man of Steel."
Henry Cavill stars as the titular superhero, while other confirmed cast members include Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Michael Shannon as General Zod, as well as Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Jonathan and Martha Kent.
There are multiple Faoras in the Superman universe, so it remains unclear which one Traue has been tapped to play. The first Faora, Faora Hu-Ul, was introduced in Action Comics #471 as a beautiful Kryptonian woman with an intense unexplained hatred for all men. She was an expert at the Kryptonian martial art of Horo-Kanu, which utilizes pressure points on the Kryptonian body and made her a dangerous foe for Superman to fight in hand-to-hand combat. In fact, he was forced to flee from their first encounter.
That said, it's more likely that Traue will be playing the version of Faora that debuted in Action Comics #779 as a Pokolistanian aide of General Zod. That character was an orphan metahuman with the ability to disrupt molecular bonds, which allowed her to create a mutagenic virus that served as the linchpin of Zod's plan.
In pop culture, the female Kryptonian named Ursa in "Superman" and "Superman II" is believed to be based on Faora, who appeared on the eighth season of "Smallville" as the wife of General Zod.
Zack Snyder is directing "Man of Steel" from a screenplay by David S. Goyer, based on a story by Nolan and Goyer. Christopher Nolan is producing alongside Charles Roven, Emma Thomas and Deborah Snyder, while Legendary topper Thomas Tull is exec producing with Lloyd Phillips.
Production is scheduled to start this summer in Chicago, with a release planned for December 2012.
Traue was last seen playing the female lead alongside Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster in Overture Films' "Pandorum." Thesp recently wrapped Renny Harlin's war drama "5 Days of August," which stars Val Kilmer, Andy Garcia and Heather Graham.
Traue is repped stateside by Greene & Associates Talent Agency, and by Troika and Spielkind overseas.
I don't really know that much about her so too early to pass judgment. Maybe she'll be good, who knows?

Cool variety article non but even they made the same mistake heatvision with what sv character was lol. But ya I wish her the best of luck and can't wait to see how she is.

Ya I will need to go find something she has done to judge her more. But ya interesting move from snyder going for a fairly unknown for this role. Would have been a good place to nab some known actress. But like I said earlier best of luck for antje and can't wait to see how they have this faora bbe. On that matter with the few different faoras there has been in the comics. Which take do you guys want to see they go with.

Both Nolan and Snyder can be hit-and-miss when it comes to pulling from unknown talent pools, particularly with actresses. I wasn't impressed with Malin Akerman, and I wasn't impressed with Katie Holmes or Scarlett Johansson, either. Lena Headey and Marion Cotillard were wonderful, though.

I just watched 'Pandorum', which she co-stars in with Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster.
She didn't have to do much acting, as it's a sci-fi flick, but I can see her as Faora. As long as she doesn't go over-the-top, or think she has to "ham it up" because "You know, it's a funny book movie".

On the other hand, if you're forced to do costumes and stuff in a more or less realistic world, there are only so many ways to skin that cat... and the most common seems to be black leather, duster-like "capes" and shit.

Let me ask the $64,000 question. Is JON PETERS mixed up in this production ANYWHERE?! Inquiring minds want to know! Do the brothers Warner need to hire MARVEL Studios to make their comic book films for them?! And I can't believe now that Zack Snyder on that Youtube video asked, "What? Thor has a movie? THOR?!" Yeah, Zack, Thor, & it rocked too! And Thor's costume wasn't anything to be ASHAMED of! No apologists needed there.
