Condition Of 'Expendables 2' Stuntman Stabilizes
By Andrew Weymes on November 01, 2011

Last week, 'The Expendables 2' was met with a tragedy: two stuntmen had been involved in an accident which resulted in one of their deaths and one being in critical condition. At the time, their names weren't being released, and the fate of the still-living stuntman was undetermined. The production companies behind the film, Nu Image/Millennium Films have released an update. Via Coming Soon, it reads:

"In the early evening hours last Thursday, October 27; an accident occurred during filming of Second Unit Stunt Sequences of The Expendables 2 on Lake Ognyanovo, Bulgaria. This resulted in one fatality and one serious injury of stuntmen on the Second Unit set. Simultaneously 2.5 hours away the production's Main Unit was filming with lead actors on location in Bansko Village.

Our deepest condolences go to the family of Kun Lieu. His passing is tragic. Our sympathies also go to Nuo Sun who was seriously injured as a result of the same explosion. We have been informed his condition has stabilized. He has been transported to Munich, Germany, where he is receiving top medical care from the best specialists.

Regrettably, Bulgarian language newspapers have incorrectly reported that stunt doubles for Jet Li and Sylvester Stallone were involved in the accident. This is absolutely false and inaccurate. At the time of the accident neither Li's or Stallone's stuntmen were on or near the Second Unit set, nor were any of the film's main actors, director Simon West or any of the Main Unit crew.

Only Second Unit filming has been temporarily suspended and will resume shortly. The filmmakers continue to work with authorities investigating this accident. Main Unit production has not been interrupted and continues as scheduled."

Once again, condolences to the family of Kun Lieu, and hopefully the condition of Nuo Sun only continues to improve.

From director Simon West, the big action ensemble, 'The Expendables 2' is scheduled for theatrical release next summer on August 17, 2012.

Reciting just those last names... a logo consisting of a skull with knives protruding out of it and guns protruding beyond them... opening with Bruce Willis being Bruce Willis... and then with Arnold being Arnold...

If that's not a recipe for a badass teaser, I oh-fficially don't know what is.

It's definitely not a movie for little girls or "Occupy Wall Street Because Everyone Else Is" asshairs.

The testosterone alone would hurt their ovaries.

Sly responds to the PG13 rumor on EXPENDABLES 2...
Published at: Jan 18, 2012 9:52:40 PM CST

Hey folks, Harry here... I asked Stallone to respond to the rumors regarding EXPENDABLES 2 being PG13. And this is what Stallone had to say...

Harry, the film is fantastic with Van Damme turning in an inspired performance... Our final battle is one for the ages. The PG13 rumor is true, but before your readers pass judgement, trust me when I say this film is LARGE in every way and delivers on every level. This movie touches on many emotions which we want to share with the broadest audience possible, BUT, fear not, this Barbeque of Grand scale Ass Bashing will not leave anyone hungry...Sly

You know - if the film is PG13 - and a better film that the last one, I'm alright with it. It isn't like the last film was pushing the R-rating. Arnold had a blast shooting his 4 days on this. But hopefully Stallone will get bloody as hell in BULLET TO THE HEAD. So we'll get a dosage of that this year as well.

Are We Getting A PG-13 EXPENDABLES 2?
Published at: Jan 18, 2012 12:30:34 PM CST

Nordling here.

I can hear the ranting already. Apparently, Chuck Norris did an interview overseas with the Polish site Gazeta, and in that interview he stated (according to ExpendablesPremiere.com):

In Expendables 2, there was a lot of vulgar dialogue in the screenplay. For this reason, many young people wouldn’t be able to watch this. But I don’t play in movies like this. Due to that I said I won’t be a part of that if the hardcore language is not erased. Producers accepted my conditions and the movie will be classified in the category of PG-13.

Now before people get all a-tizzy, it's not really up to Norris when it comes to the rating, but I wouldn't be surprised if it wound up as a PG-13. It just makes financial sense in today's age; although the first film was successful, PG-13 amps that dollar amount considerably. I'd never heard of an actor, especially one with a supporting role like Norris's, negotiating for that kind of deal, but I have the feeling that they were probably shooting for a PG-13 anyway.

So does this hurt the film in your eyes? Will Terry Crews' Magical Exploding Shotgun be muzzled? Or do you think that it's all a bunch of hooey and that EXPENDABLES 2 will get its R rating? It's odd that Norris would want to stick to this kind of rating, considering his filmography. But apparently he's a fairly moral guy these days, and he wants to make sure kids get to see the film. If this means that stuff won't blow up real good this time out, I'm not going to be happy. Thanks to SlashFilm for the heads up.

Nordling, out.

Oh yeah, Chuck?

Hasn't he become a Christian since making those movies though?

Either way, I don't want to say a PG-13 Expendables 2 is pointless... but part of the draw of it is the uncensored violence and action. That gets diminished with a PG-13 rating.

Chuck Norris does NOT have the clout to force a PG-13 rating.

Giving in to Walker, Texas Ranger is a bad, bad idea.

Terry crews on the pg 13 rating:

Terry Crews Talks The Expendables 2 PG-13 Rating

We also have a PG-13 fan-made trailer that shows the cast of this upcoming sequel having fun with swear words. February 2nd, 2012

38

Had enough already with the PG-13 rating that has been slapped on The Expendables 2? Nope! It looks like fans aren't willing to let this one go. And can you blame them? This was supposed to be a film for adults made by the toughest action crew around. But the sequel is going to cater to a younger fan base, and more than a few folks are calling fowl. This outcry has obviously been heard by the actors in the film. And so far, those who've spoke out on the matter are defending this decision to drop the R rating.

Terry Crews was the latest to speak out on The Expendables 2's PG-13 rating, calling it necessary. We have his quote for you, followed by yet another angry fan's creativeness with an The Expendables 2 PG-13 trailer remix. Stick around for the second half, where Chuck Norris proves he's softened quite a bit in his old age.

This is what Terry Crews had to say, basically blaming Eat, Pray, Love for the new rating.

"It's PG-13. Do you really think only men 40 and over saw the first one? The kids bought tickets to Eat, Pray, Love and walked right into The Expendables. In fact, they were YOUR kids. I get it. I really do. But boobs and blood do not a good movie make. You don't want to go. Don't go. I respect it. But you will miss the greatest thing you've ever seen."

Okay. So we should never have another R rated movie. Gotcha. At least we have this fan-made trailer to remember all the good times.

The Expendables 2 PG-13 Fan Trailer

The Expendables 2 comes to theaters August 17th, 2012 and stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Bruce Willis, Liam Hemsworth, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris, Jet Li. The film is directed by simon west.
