'Batman V. Superman' SDCC Teaser Description

Post  Apologist Puncher on Sat Jul 26, 2014 2:40 pm

It was short but got right down to the heart of the matter. Set at night, in pouring rain, it begins on a rooftop with Ben Affleck’s Batman - in souped-up armour much like he wields in Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns, including glowing eyes - pulling a tarpaulin off the Batsignal. It shines into the sky, and then - illuminated against the clouds, flecked with lightning, standing inside the symbol, is Henry Cavill’s Superman. And he does not look happy, his eyes glowing red with burgeoning heat vision ray. The camera tracks in on Batman’s face as he grimaces… and cut to black. No dialogue at this point, so there’s no idea of what Affleck sounds like as Batman, or indeed a wider sense of the story, but the message is clear: Clark and Bruce are going to face off, and Bruce has enhanced his Batsuit to compensate for the most powerful man alive.

REALLY not sure what to think of this. Yeah, the fanboy in me is excited; I'm just sick of seeing Batman and Superman duke it out, and sicker still of the fight ending in a way other than Batman being a stain on the wall.

Eh, sounds cool though.

We've never seen it in live-action before though. This is something COMPLETELY new for the majority of cinema-goers.

Keep that in mind.

Eh, sounds cool though.

Looks even cooler than it sounds.^^

Hmmm, now that's got the Frank Miller look to it. Even the Batsignal has adopted the design

I just watched that. However, I predict by this time tomorrow, it will have been removed due to a 'complaint of infringement' by duh brothers. And so it always goes..........

That version looked 'mirrored' like when we first saw the 6-minute prologue of TDKR with mini-Bane.

Yeah, they took the first guy's clip, zoomed in and mirrored it. For some reason?

Probably no need to worry excessively though. I'm sure this is the type of roller coaster ride we're gonna be on for nearly the next 2 years.  Rolling Eyes

How Many More Times

Post  Rduce on Sun Jul 27, 2014 6:46 pm

I would really think since this was just done in animation WB would want a live action version not follow so closely, and have the story go in a different direction. As CB stated, in the real world Batman would last about as long as a fly in a real fight with Superman. Of course all the fanboys are in orgasmic bliss over a 40 second trailer, time will tell if the story lives up to the hype. However, with Terrio brought onboard to FIX it, I am sure we have seen the last of that hack Goyer and the script will be palatable
