I regard this as good news but your mileage may vary.

What I've read is that the legalities of this were worked out a pretty long time ago. The main hold-up has been the estates of various former stars/co-stars wanting a cost-prohibitive amount of money for agreeing to a home video release. Were this a TV show made today, it wouldn't be a problem. That's built into all the contracts. But oldies like this one are more challenging for that reason.
